The actual Cuban variety is, yes, but in the United States their trademark is not enforced so Bacardi produces and markets their own "Havana Club" there

So if you're US based, no, if you're international, yes

or just bring it back

It's not bad stuff, but I prefer Havana Club, which is well worth seeking out.

thinking about morrowind. so house hlaalu would be the comprador bourgeoisie, telvanni would be national bourgeoisie, and redoran would be something else -- a feudal throwback.

correct??? the proper choice should be to join with telvanni.

The Telvanni resist Imperial influence because they want to keep their slaves. It's House Redoran who are the national bourgeoisie because they make sure to keep the peace without doing open business with foreign elements. The Telvanni are the feudal throwback, who resist all progress to maintain their traditional privileges.

The Democratic Socialist Curse

jacobin has leaned in real hard to the reformist side of things, especially over the last 2-3 years. i listen to their podcast a lot when im running and the whole podcast has basically become the propaganda arm of the reform the dems people in the DSA

Do you think this is funny?
Ironically my interest in Jacobin sharply declined the more involved with DSA I got.

apropos to nothing

theres plenty of people in DSA and even some whole chapters that are revolutionary socialists, but the leadership generally and many of the editors and "thought leaders" associated with stuff like jacobin are very much not. dan denvers entire show is basically just "heres how the DSA is changing/can change the democrats from the inside" every week

The Jacobin climate change issue was really good. They're not very politically radical but they're very good at staking out neglected left positions, which is why they've had an outsided influence.

Nah, you've got it wrong. There are plenty of boring mainstream left publications like Mother Jones and The Nation but Jacobin does a much better job at innovating and reaching demographics that those wouldn't.
