Man its 2018 just leave Melee to its own devices and ignore the fanbase. Unless they start doing actual damaging poo poo to other games I don't care what they do. Ive done so for years and I just watch the matches when they come once in awhile because they're amusing. The Melee pedestal is much stronger than the Street Fighter one. For one, Melee has one of the most active competitive scenes in the community as it is a top game in almost any major tournament. In contrast the most a Super Turbo tournament will get is well under two hundred entrants. While Third Strike essentially has one major tournament a year. I feel that people mostly see them as nostalgia games more than anything else. If you are wondering why "Old school Street Fighter fans can be as bad as Melee fans", it's because...well they're right. Street Fighter IV was like warm compared to the rest of the series. Street Fighter V is easily the worst fighting game to ever solidify itself in the tourney scene. It's just that bad. I can't comment on how Melee compares to Smash IV and Brawl, because I don't play brawlers. The difference between old school SF players and Melee players is that when I'm blazed and chilling in the jacuzzi at CEO/CB and I ask what game they're playing, SF players will actually answer me while Melee players will just scoff at me and say "the only game that matters" I've never wanted to abuse TO powers to ban somebody instantly so badly as I did at that particular moment

I always thought the idea that melee players smelled was a joke and parroted it online because I'm a troll but once I went to my first tourney and walked by the Smash room and realized how horrible it was I decided then and there that I would be racist against smash players until I died

ST players will never bitch about ST not being an official game at EVO or demanding that it get a Sunday Main Event spot over SFV no matter how much they hate the game. ST players also don't poo poo in hotel pools, demand "Warmup stations" for top players, take 30 minute breaks during finals, take 30 minutes just to finish ONE MATCH during finals, and don't demand to play only on the Spongebob CRT. Also, this is the Fighting Game thread-- all Smash talk is off-topic.
