Check out this Hot Take: The Vixen has sucked right from the start. "Safe" outfits in the first weeks that could easily have been in the bottom. lovely runways, boring caustic drama and yet keeps staying alive by lip syncs against people who completely choke. Time to go bitch.

Eureka and Aquaria were the 2 people who were actually funny at Snatch Game. The rest was boring to completely unbearable. Beyonce/Blue Ivy was too cringy to watch again.

Miz Cracker seems to be coming apart a bit which sucks. I want her to win at this point.

I was not expecting Aquaria to be funny.

That was a nice surprise.

Always handy when it's visible in the first like, ten seconds who's going to win the lip sync.

So now that half the queens are gone, it's time to start thinking about Miss C. Is it still going to be a fan vote? Are they finally gonna split it into true Miss Congeniality and Miss Fan Favorite?

Going by traditional rules (most congenial, but based on what the viewers see), I'd say these are the biggest contenders:
  • Monique - for being the heart of season 10 (through her uplifting werkroom banter)
  • Asia - for motherliness, being helpful fish in the werkroom
  • Mayhem - for attempting to bring peace between queens, providing pep talks in Untucked
  • Blair - for general sweetness
  • Kameron - for muscles being a drama-free queen
  • Eureka - to make everyone's head explode as she wins both the crown and Miss C

Vanjie :colbert:

No really, I wouldn't be surprised if she won.

Unless they have a real Miss C vote this year, Vanjie is almost definitely winning fan favourite. Or Cracker or Aquaria.

If they have Fan Favourite and then a real Miss C the queens vote on, it'll prob be Asia or Blair.

Re: Eureka, I think a lot of the dislike from viewers is coming from the huge amount of time she's been onscreen.

She was in five episodes of S9 and now she's been on seven episodes of s10.

She's also a favorite for talking heads and work-room edits, so we've seen a LOT of Eureka.

I agree she is a strong queen and has been doing really well in S10. However, I also find her boring and predictable and I've seen enough of her in this reality TV show

Like I said, I think Eureka relies too much on VOLUME. Her Snatch Game was fine.

Personally, I evaluate queens based on "would I pay money to go see their show." What Eureka has shown me is good, but I wouldn't pay money to see it, it's too boring and generic. Can you sing? Can you dance? Can you do comedy? Do you pull crazy shocking stunts?

Eureka is def a queen I'd be happy to see on one of the Ru Girl tours but idk if I'd go out of my way to see her, unless she were like the only Ru Girl to come to Vancouver for Pride or something.

So let's say Eureka is part of a ten queen Drag Race tour where every performer gets their 2 songs or 15 minutes on stage, there is a mini Snatch game thing in the middle, and a few group numbers.

There is a good chance Eureka steals the show or at the very least leaves you with a memorable performance.

Dunno why everyone was so down on Asia's fish mask. Sure the painting on it wasn't perfect but it was creative as hell among all these little mermaids.

It was a really gutsy move but it was also just an off-the-shelf Halloween mask painted in splotchy dayglo colours that clashed with the rest of her outfit and she didn't apply any matching bodypaint to any of her visible skin so it was a really incomplete look. That cheap wig also wasn't doing her any favours.

If she'd cut the chin section off so she could emote with her mouth more, done a better job on the paint work and chosen a better wig it could have looked awesome. Mermaid FX makeup is pretty popular among amateur costumers so there's hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of photos on google that show what's possible.

Asia's runway was something else. From the neck up, I liked the idea but... maybe she should have watched some Nina Bo'Nina videos on the youtube.

Yeah Nina does some really crazy stuff but she also makes sure that you can recognise her under the makeup, she has a really personalized aesthetic which she brings to everything she does and allows her to shine through which is actually really difficult when you're covering your entire face with paint and prosthetics. Asia got totally lost underneath that mask.

Phi Phi O'Hara is also really good at combining Halloween/cosplay looks with the drag aesthetic

Though the reasons I adore her are almost entirely lewks and her instagram where she hides all the charisma and comedy she hasn't shown on the show yet. I keep hoping she's gonna break out and show how funny she is on the show but it keeps not happening.

Also re: Vixen, I hate how she handled everything about this, her attacking Eureka on the runway absolutely sucked. When she finally said she wasn't ~angry just hurt that everyone had said her I felt kinda bad though because I was completely ready to write her off without considering that from her perspective she probably didn't hear 'this week I didn't like your work and I'm just answering a question' but 'lol gently caress your drag, v' when almost everyone said her name, like she clearly didn't know how to deal at all.

...and Eureka's 'please just gently caress me' read is the first time she's made me laugh. Does anyone else loathe her boy hair? That curl sets my teeth on edge for some reason.

It's because Eureka's boy hair is just like Laganja's. Yes gawd mawmaw okuurrrr.

Meanwhile that was a terrible Snatch Game, I feel they should just rest it from the show for a while because it's not been funny for a few seasons (AS2?).

Something about this phrasing sets me on edge cuz she's publicly agender. Then again, she doesn't go out of her way to correct people who call her a boy so who knows what she uses irl.

It's so perfect that the Vixen's whole mermaid shtick was basically a big homage to Azealia Banks ("heavy metal and reflective," the teal hair, Fantasea) considering how confrontational Azealia is too.

That's what I mean, I'm not sure. Eureka has shared her gender identity on social media but I don't think I've seen any mention of pronouns. Which makes it real tough, but I tend to default to "they" for anyone I'm unsure about, but that isn't necessarily the default in every trans community. I wasn't trying to call you out at all.

Nonbinary still falls under the trans umbrella. It's a real big umbrella cuz there's not enough of us to really advocate or acculturate in tiny sub groups. But yeah she's not a trans woman, she says "agender" (which isn't quite nonbinary either, it's no gender at all.)

Have to agree with the people saying Eurekea isn't going to win but I don't think that means she hasn't deserved her challenge wins. She has done her thing in the space given and she has only looked that much better by people bombing hard. I don't think Vixen is totally wrong but she is really melting down and has no one to blame for choosing a 4 year old for Snatch Game. If Vixen was just using as motivation to perform better I'd be more willing to give her the benefit of the doubt, instead she just looks jealous as gently caress.
