Tekken games get a 1.0 release in arcades, a bunch of over-the-air updates to tweak balance and mechanics as needed, a 2.0 paid content update (i.e. DR/BR/FR), some more tweaks, and then a home release when everything's as done as it's gonna get. T7 is the first one to even have DLC characters and they've specifically used it as an opportunity to have guest appearances and experiment with weird mechanics because Harada doesn't really like the idea of core game content as DLC to begin with.
