Ugh, can’t stand Russell Howard. I’m still a good few seasons behind luckily, but that’s really put me off catching up.

Yeah I don't hate Russell Howard as much as most but he came across like a twatbag on here

I hate Russell Howard. I hate that I am expected to look at a man in his 40s acting like an excitable teenager and expected to be entertained. He can get off my television set!!! It seems to be much more an American thing, using actors in their 30s to play teenagers. I don't want that kind of thing catching on here.

I feel the Inbetweeners were all old enough to have kids in school when that came out. ‘Will’ was like 25 in series 1 at least and the 2nd movie came out about 6 years after it started.

If there are people who like Russell Howard who wouldn’t normally get that kind of political content with a socialist lean I’m totally ok with that.

I spotted Prime Suspect on UK Netflix this week. Good stuff, great cast (Helen Mirren mostly). It’s hilariously dated in many ways, but modern in the way it shows chauvinism, corruption and has a competent female lead. I also spotted a bit part from a young Ralph Fiennes in episode 1.

There’s new Friday Night Dinner! Last series was pretty poor so I was surprised to see it back last night, but it was pretty good. Same as ever, but I laughed many times. B+

Him being slapped down over calling his manager was wonderful though. The bit in his stand-up where he gets revenge on the terminally ill kid is one of the most hilarious and touching things I've ever seen, so I can't dislike him too much: https://www.facebook.com/olee229/videos/1706665022695214/

Unlike when I watch his good news show or whatever it's called, where he can really get under my skin.

The new Car Share is on iPlayer. It's the improvised episode and mostly pretty funny, they are certainly spot on with their spoofs of local radio. Finale is out on 28th.

yeah I don't think it was egregious in The Inbetweeners because they still pretty much looked like lame, ordinary teenagers. The American thing is to cast people in their mid twenties who also look like American actors i.e fit and beautiful and generic although they didn't do that for the US Inbetweeners iirc and presumably it was still awful

Did anyone watch The Island this year? It was interesting to hear the jobs of the rich people because the idea that a guy can work 3 days a year selling things you can only actually get hold of if you're rich and make over £100,000 per year is enough to make anyone a communist. It was strange that there were a few people who weren't camera related that never got a background. There was a black lady in the rich camp and they didn't say a word about her at all for example.
