Finished it today, it's a gem and clearly a labour of love for the writers. I can't think of a single callback to the films that was there just for its own sake, they always had a spin that put things in a new light or advanced the story. My favourite has to be Johnny getting Miguel to do a crane kick just to show Daniel up, it was an utter dick move and absolutely beautiful.

I re-watched Part 2 today, and there's some parallels between Sato's beef with Miyagi and the Johnny/Daniel thing. In the movie, Miyagi saves Sato's life and that helps Sato find his way again and become the good man he once was. I would not be surprised at all if they do a callback to this. If anything it'd be switched and Johnny saves Daniel's rear end. edit: And this is a nit-pick, but why was Daniel allowed to participate in the tournament in part 3. He's 18 at that point. It's not a big deal, just one of those things. Also, in retrospect, Daniel had a pretty crazy year. KK3 was not a good movie. Terry Silver is funny because he's an 80's bad guy amped up to 11, but the whole thing was just stupid and crummy. Why would everyone throw their free tshirts away just because a kid lost at karate? It's almost as silly as all of Russia cheering for Rocky.

KK3 is a Good 80's Action Movie. It's actually not all that great as a KK movie, truth be told.

I've been telling absolutely everyone to go watch this. Now, I don't want to take credit for it getting a second season, but I think we all know it was probably me. You're all welcome by the way. This is fantastic news. I didn't think I'd like this show as much as I do. It's probably my favorite show I've watched in the last couple of years.

How much are they, is it the standard $2.99/episode or whatever? I approve of wallet voting, but Red is worth it just to get rid of the ads. It's nice that it finally has quality content to boot. But, a month would still be cheaper I think.

No Youtube Red in Canada unfortunately! $2.49 Canadian an episode so $20 for the season when you throw in the two free episodes. Well worth it imo, I just wondered if I was missing something

My dad’s in town, and I was telling him about this show. He was intrigued, and he doesn’t care about any TV show I recommend him. Too bad he’s an old and can’t understand YouTube, let alone YouTube you have to pay for. Maybe I’ll do the free one-month and watch it with him next time I go home to visit.

You know the weirdest thing about the Cobra Kai series is that it makes me want to find a copy of Sidekicks to watch. Too bad Jonathan Bendis died years ago, because finding out both movies exist in the same universe would blow my mind.
