Another reason why cockatiels are great is this picture which is maybe my favorite picture on the internet

Has a dildo in it. It's not being used and it's not in any way a nws picture in its composition, but there is a dildo so, you know, be aware.

Swan feeding koi. I was gonna ask what kind of bird it was, then I scrolled up in my browser where the title was hidden under the address bar.

I guess that swan also thinks koi are hilarious when they beg.

My favorite thing about cockatiels is how they hold their wings out a little bit in the "I'm gonna whistle real loving good!" posture.

This is great wording. I don't know why, but it made me laugh for a good 30 seconds.

Have another cockatiel video.

And another where a cockatiel whistles "Another One Bites the Dust" while standing on a Freddy Mercury figurine.
https://youtu.be/8Ry7AyDBHMY

Also there is a series of YouTube videos for training your cockatiel to whistle various songs. Each one is just someone whistling the same song over and over again for 25 minutes. Kind of cool.

I don't think it even wants the chicken soup. It just wants to mock its human when the human tells it not to sample the soup. That human has a weird parrot voice.

One thing that I like about cockatiels is that once they learn a song, they start to reproduce it less and less faithfully over time. It’s like they take the notes of the song and use them to make new music. I don’t know if it’s something they do intentionally or if they’re just too dumb to keep the music in their head properly.

I always figured they were trying to impress their friends with their mad improv skillz.

One of my birds had a really good song that is a combination of If You're Happy And You Know It and the Addams Family theme song. So I taught him La Cucaracha. Now I get "If You're Happy And You Know The Addams Family's Pet Cockroach" I guess. All music goes into one song.

I'M FEELING JIMMY

I saw some plovers near my work about a week ago, and I was very excited to see them. I tried to take a picture, but the window was a bit too dirty to get a clean shot, and they ran away once I opened the door. I was very upset, but still felt very good to have seen a family of baby plovers and what I guess was their mother up close.
