If I had to make one complaint about Hyrule Warriors it's that they gave teen bird girl, the best character, the worst most ear-piercing voiceclips and it makes me sad.

Zelda makes a really annoying noise every time she swings her sword.

The game game is excellent besides that. I didn't really know anything about Linkle beforehand and she's cool and fun to play.

I only played up to the water world in Tropical Freeze on Wii U. I am now to the boss of that world on the Switch version and boy do I hate it! Love the game, don't love the swimming mechanics (rarely do in platformers), and having to fight a boss using those swimming mechanics is my own personal hell.

My biggest complaint about Hyrule Warriors is that Linkle and Lana have yet to get their own games.

e: Actually, did they add indicators for the element system so you're not blindly attacking things that might take almost no damage?

I'm just saying, there's a nonzero chance Trump has a really toad penis.
Platformers should have a post-game mode where you're the boss in a boss fight and you've got all these unfair attacks you can use to just dunk on two-hit-death enemies one by one.

Turn it all around like at the end of Butcher Bay when you get that robot suit and you're like "not a stealth game anymore motherfuckers!"

I was able to acclimate to DK's odd roll and jump control pretty quickly, but the swimming took me forever. It's just so off from what I expect every time.

No,enemies still have their elemental weaknesses though (since there's no elemental strengths in this game). As usual, most character enemies are weak to either Light or Dark element while captain enemies are usually weak against Fire, Water, or Lightning, and characters under the player's control have no weaknesses.

If you want, I can post the weakness list for enemies later on today.

The real problem is when you have very strict time requirements and you're forced to, say, fight Volga while using a Fire-type weapon or Wizzro with Ghirahim. There's no real indicator for how to deal with that, and even though there's an entire set of defense upgrades to increasing resistances, there's no open explanation for what works best, resulting in trial-and-error and grinding. I'm wondering if they rebalanced this for DE.

With FEW, you have both the weapon triangle and class strengths/weaknesses, and you at least get arrows to say "This is very effective" or "This archer is going to murder your Pegasus Knight. Do not."

Allow me to decide for you. Stop wasting time and get Hyrule Warriors...unless you need the money to eat or pay rent. That’s probably more important. Maybe.

Even the rumors, which have been verified up to this point, say switch will only get the BR mode. CoD always has a second event in September where they show off multiplayer, but since zombies are now the campaign, they're holding back the br mode. Expect to see the reveal on Sonys stage or later. Either way, activision will usually still not mention what other systems it's on until like a couple weeks before. Sometimes the wii u cod wasn't even talked about until release.

I'm so glad I gave HW another try, I hated it when I first played it (on the old 3ds), then tried Fire Emblem Warriors which I played for an ungodly amount of time. Gave this another try and it was perfect on the perfect console, the Nintendo Switch.

There's no resistances to elements. They all do the same damage against enemies except for when the enemy's weakness is to that element in which case it does more. Hitting Volga with a Fire attack would do the same damage as a Lightning, Light, or Dark attack of equal power. Only attacks from Water-type weapons would deal different damage, and it'd be increased damage because Volga has a weakness to Water attacks.

Also, even if a weapon has multiple elements, the damage it does will still be of the damage of the element the weapon is associated with. So all of Sheik's attacks will do extra damage against enemies weak against Lightning because Goddess Harp is a Lightning-type weapon.

Wizard of Legend is good but I think it might also be just too hard. A few bad hits gently caress up a lot of your run since you'll need to buy health and it doesn't come free often enough. I got to the first boss once and was hosed up bad because sometimes she's offscreen doing a thing and you can't react to it, or the screen is just full of effects and targets and it fucks with your vision. I was also under the impression you could start with the L/R triggers with skills from the training area, and was pissed that isn't the case. It's a fun game with very cool concepts but part of me is a little disappointed that the difficulty is full of poo poo.

On the topic of difficulty I also don't think Tropical Freeze is harder than Celeste, not in a million years. Some of the platforming parts in Celeste pissed me off more than anything in any game due to hitboxes and slippery poo poo. Give me that chunky monkey's traction any day
