I think the Knights are going to have a much better team than you all think. If I had to guess, William Karlsson is really going to blossom into something special. 40-plus goals is possible. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this team went to the Finals, and I think they have a real shot for the Cup against either...hmmm...probably one of Washington or Tampa Bay.

Last few years make it seem otherwise, but overall the Flyers have one of the best records on making the playoffs from 73 on.

Off the top of my head:
Made playoffs 73-89.
Missed 90-94, but got Lindros
Playoffs 95 to 05?
Very bad year either 05 or 06. I blacked this out of my mind.
Team got better, went to finals 2010. Made playoffs until why, 2014?
And now they’re starting to get better and make the playoffs again.

The most surprising thing is that he played 79 games this season and didn't get into a fight. He had one in the preseason but he's approaching 100 games since his last one.

If this was posted I missed it, but I liked this observation from the other day. The success Vegas had has been in large part because of a few players which other GMs rated as less valuable than their self-judged 10th-ish best players.

https://twitter.com/travisyost/status/998335061249347585

Of course, Vegas didn't actually expect to do as well as they did with what they got, so pretty much everyone misjudged.

Yeah that's fair. Even the year they were awful they still drew.

Flyers haven't been a sustained bottom feeder for a while though. Dunno how well even they'd do in that scenario. Good fanbase though.

It's about finding that next group of core players we can win with in the next 6, 8, 10 years. Let's face it, it's hard for 20-, 21-, 22-year-olds to lead an NHL team. Look at the playoffs.

Here’s a bunch of meaningless numbers about game seven games. Good reading for Caps fans while we work on building up our emotional walls before puck drop tonight.

Only three times have the Caps played a Game 7 on the road since 2005-2006, losing two decisions in Madison Square Garden against the New York Rangers, both by 2-1 margins (in 2012 and in overtime in 2015), and beating Boston at TD Garden by a 2-1 margin in overtime in 2012.
