I think he can hear you, Ray.
FRIGHT NIGHT is out in the UK through Eureka in a really nice release. It's a 4k restoration as well and it's likely that Shout! will just use the same transfer.

I hope they put out THE BLOB though, it deserves a full release.

I'm going to be setting up my old TV in my room with the Xbox 360 so I'll probably get use out of some of them until I get around to buying a stand alone Blu. Of course I need a region free one for the main room first, so it might just be a while.

Not to mention my roommate is still using a SD TV/DVD/VCR combo in her room.

Video quality is top notch and it has a new commentary with the director and interview with one of the actors. It also has all of the old extras from the DVD release.

New transfer from the negative according to VS too. Not sure what the existing Umbrella blu uses, but knowing VS's quality it'll probably be a step up.

Looking at Star Time and Sweet Sweet back's in the sale, and depending whether the secret titles pique my interest or not, Pigs and Christmas Evil. It kicks off at 2pm local time for me, so I'm pretty #blessed

I worked with a guy who told me about how one of his first jobs was cutting Troma trailers (he's now a very prolific Hollywood editor), including Dead Dudes in the House. The story goes that the film Troma bought was a pretty bland ghost story that proved to be totally scare-less. He's stuck on how to cut the trailer, so Lloyd Kaufman starts spitballing on how to market it based on what's currently popular, which he concludes is surfer dudes and New Kids on the Block. He pulls the fantastic Dead Dudes in the House out of his rear end with the instructions to cut and dub the trailer as a surfer comedy. The director is kept in the dark until he sees the trailer and new title during a film festival and is naturally incensed. Kaufman allegedly threw the trailer editor under the bus, claiming he'd gone rogue.

VS sale is live. Secret titles are Deadly Daphne's Revenge and Pets.

Pulled the trigger on Deadly Daphne's Revenge, because it sounds rad (it also isn't being re-released after this run) but Pets doesn't interest me at all. Also snagged Sweet Sweetback's, Dolemite, Christmas Evil, and Star Time.

edit: I also think I was the first purchase of the sale because the site didn't collapse in a flaming wreck like it has with all the other sales.

Yeah, I snagged Pets and DDR, plus the half-way package, but the site was crashing and burning the whole time, so I'll wait until later to see what else I need. I might just wait for the next sales, when my finances will be a more forgiving of buying more movies.

The half-way package is totally worth it, I wish that they would do a first-half package on Black Friday since it's easier to swallow at that time of year than the full year package.
