Carmelo has the better overall numbers although their overall scoring shows that Korver's points are of a much higher quality.

CP3 has ranked within the top eight of WS/48 players the last ELEVEN straight seasons. Now picture and imagine all the hundreds of NBA players who've been called "great" and "consistent" and "elite" and all that other mumbo jumbo. Flush those other players right down the toilet because the only player who's had a longer streak than eleven is Kareem with fourteen straight.

Luc playing well would be poetic justice. It is funny that people in the basketball media call the other Rockets "hood ornaments" to the offense but Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker are the reasons why Houston is where they're at right now.

There's also the fact that loads of players have balked at a similar role. There was an article a few weeks back about how the Rockets are worried about making any roster moves not because they don't think they can get better but because they know they're lucky to have guys who are okay with getting 1 play call a game while Harden/CP3 dribble around.

A lot of it has been dispelled now but for a long time he was criminally underrated because he played on a slew of Indiana Pacers teams without any other stars* and never won any titles. Just like CP3 was derided for not making it to the WCF for a long time.

Statistical analysis has revealed that Reggie Miller was an exceptional scorer. 4,580 people have been good enough to make it into the NBA/ABA but only two have reached 22,000+ points while being positive 2P and 3P (50%+ and 33.3%+) shooters. Reggie Miller and LBJ. Super elite company.

*Dale Davis and Rik Smits were decent players but not really close to what you need for a title team. Prime Shaq vs. Rik Smits etc.

The reasoning back in 2012 (of the pro-Harden faction) was that Harden was already a demonstrably better scorer. Almost the best in the league even though he was young enough to be in the NCAA.

They didn't really make a choice, Harden wanted to leave. It just wasn't reported at the time. Kevin Martin knew he was going to OKC before the season even started, they just had to figure out what else would be in the deal.

You can say, they should have made a better deal than Kevin Martin and a late lottery pick, sure, but when other teams know your player wants to leave, they have leverage.

Presti and the rest of the scouts did a good job and got very lucky, it's just a shame that their incredibly good players all had FATAL FLAWS
