It's less burning them from a PR standpoint and more from a maturity standpoint. I think Hana is mostly grounded in real life, but WWE is probably gunshy still.

I thought it was something to do with him bringing people to the WWE hotel when Raw was in town. Unrelated to Tyler Bate, but Meiko Satomura has been added to the number one contenders match for the KO-D Openweight Championship in KO-D.

Yeah, which is why its very likely she'll be picked up by WWE the moment she turns 21 and is out of her Wrestle-1 contract. If she can become somewhat fluent in English, she would probably do very well in WWE, even on the main roster. Especially since they seem to love heels like her. They would have to tone down a few of her mannerisms (she wouldn't be allowed to give people the bird anymore), and polish her ring skills, but she has a lot of potential. Not to mention if she's ever mishandled/mistreated, Vince runs the risk of pissing off Kyoko, who would probably kill him.

Just a heads up, but Bradcat (guy who follows a lot of the joshi scene and lives in Japan) is covering the Io Shirai Q&A right now. The most important thing revealed so far is that Jungle Assault Nation should be pronounced as JAN instead of JOHN. https://twitter.com/bradcat/status/1000339384674144256 I don't expect anything earthshattering to be revealed during this Q&A since WWE tells people to not reveal if they've been signed or not, plus if she has signed, its likely WWE springs the "surprise" (Dave, and others would likely find out beforehand and report on it) on everyone during the Japan tour. That's the STARDOM community in a nutshell pretty much. They turned on Kairi once they learned she signed with WWE. Claiming she was old and was a falling star. I mean that's besides the fact that WWE would love to toot their own horn about having one of the best female wrestlers in the world under their banner. And the fact they have so much money that signing Io wouldn't even leave the smallest of scratches in their newfound wealth. Like its okay to hate the WWE. But don't turn on the talent who decide to sign with them. And WWE will sign people with no personality/shoddy character work, and usually find something in there, at least in NXT. Main roster is a different beast. I mean there's also the fact that apparently when Io was over there trying out last year, she apparently really impressed HBK and Undertaker. But several sites reported that Io impressed both of them at her last tryout. Odds are it has to do with her athleticism. No other female wrestler comes close to her when it comes to that. That being said, some people have uploaded tribute/video compilations of some of her feats. Of course, it being a tribute package means the audio choice is...questionable to say the least. I've seen Io shoot before, its like watching a cat juggle a mouse. She's not quite at Yano Toru's level but she's more than capable of making people do what she wants in the ring. I don't know how well that will translate in WWE's world. Io's smarter than doing obvious stuff unless WWE puts her in a position where she feels she has to torpedo her way out. Lke Kairi, Io will smack a person real dang hard because they hosed up and almost injured someone, but Io won't apologize about it afterwards.
