weird, my wifes old 2006 macbook runs kubuntu 14.04 perfectly well, except for the default keyboard shortcuts assuming a PC keyboard and the touchpad not being as nice to use

everything works: wifi, sound, power management, ethernet, etc.

it was a enormous pain in the rear end to get linux installed on it due to the non-standard efi implementation, but once installded (with rEFInd as i recall) it worked fine

hmmm idk it doesnt seem like that solution would use a half gig of ram to stream a song or have random crashes where the GUI stops responding then you have to manually kill the process while it continues to suck up memory in the background

because the app is an HTML 5 UI on top of the Chromium Embedded Framework.

and we know how great chrome is about keeping ram usage reasonable.

I installed this and it didn't work at all, wouldn't launch no matter what I did... If that's the improvement you're talking about, okay, fair enough.

itunes in windows would 100% peg one cpu core forever on two different computers of mine and nothing fixed it. this was going on for 3+ years until a recent update so i guess itunes is getting better?
