SHINee's back

Other than the Latrice story and naming a couple names, that was all T Willam had spilled forever ago anyway.

e: also everyone was breakin the rules but Willam went out of his way to be blatant about it and get booted, iirc, as well as calling out a lot of the bs production was pulling. but a bunch of them had phones, I think either Latrice or Phi Phi had a laptop, a bunch of them would leave at night or get stoned with PAs, etc

e2: also I think the only person we can blame for Katya's relapse and recent issues is Katya. she's super upfront about what went down with her on her podcast

Re World of Wonder being a total fiasco, I work with someone who's worked for them on the postproduction end of things and apparently it's amateur-hour horseshit all the way down. They treat everybody like crap and can't keep good people to save their lives. She says she has literal nightmares about still working there to this day, and it's been several years.

Shangela, Kennedy, Kim Chi, Detox, Latrice, Valentina, and Alyssa. Just got back, and it was a fantastic show. Super-quick half-drunk stream of consciousness trip report:

Kim did a Sailor Moon thing that was an interesting idea but she seemed kinda bored and over it herself. Kennedy did a Brazilian sort of number that was really good, but not particularly inspired.

Detox's thing was a particular highlight, but reminded me a bit of Violet's thing from the last tour. Latrice came out and did a bit clearly pitching her as the queen of England, which I went apeshit for because I love Latrice. Apparently so does Antwerp, because I was far from alone. Shangela and Alyssa did comparatively simple lipsyncs (in terms of set/choreography), but they both have so much energy and ability to work a crowd that they really didn't need anything more. Valentina was extremely Valentina (in a good way).

There was an audience participation thing where four people came up on stage and had to draw wigs out of boxes and lip sync to a song selected for that wig, but the whole thing was a setup for a secret marriage proposal between two guys in the audience. One of them got a Beyonce wig and had to sing "Put a Ring On It", but then Shangela grabbed him as he tried to leave the stage and started talking to him, asking him where his boyfriend was. As the faux-Beyonce tried to pick him out in the audience, he snuck up behind them and when faux-Beyonce turned around he proposed. He was a bit nervous and had trouble getting started, but faux-Beyonce screamed "YES!!!!!" before he ever even said anything. It was adorable.

maybe I'm just too full of self loathing to know what regular people are like but this challenge seems kinda... easy? Just get hella into all that hosed up poo poo your brain says, stop fighting that horrible garbage win. Neither one of them had a very good lip sync.

Also, I went to look at the wikipedia to check whether Cracker had ever lip synced before, and someone had already edited the wiki to show that she was eliminated.

lol at giving Kameron poo poo for having her 'evil' version costume be too similar in style to her 'good' version, then gagging over Eureka's 'use of plaid' in both outfits

lol at Kameron being in the bottom three times in a loving row and still keeping her

I felt like I was in the loving twilight zone from like, runway onwards, due to how opposite my opinions were from what the judges were saying

Football? Yaaaay
The cut on both Aquaria and Cracker's outfits was very awkward, but it looked better on Aquaria. I'm a little obsessed with her outfit though.

Eureka's outfit was some season 2 crap.

I thought that having the 'evil twins' on the runway alongside the 'good twins' was bullshit UNTIL Ru asked the Shady Question. Worth it...until they had the good twins watching backstage. :eyeroll: Also, was anyone surprised how hard Ru went into Cracker when the judges were deliberating?

I mean, I wasn't surprised when she went home. Good lipsync though, I love watching Kameron do her thing. Finale's gonna be interesting.

I kind of love it if only because I always love it when someone fully commits to a bit.

I'm not mad at that decision. There was a solid string of episodes where Kameron surprised me with her abilities. In terms of expectation vs. reality, Miz Cracker is probably hovering a liiiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit above Nina Bonina Brown.

Do we know if they’re doing a lip sync for the crown thing again? If so... Kameron is pretty loving good at this lip sync thing.

There is no universe in which Aquaria beat Asia tonight. The only place that happened was in Rupaul's head.

Eureka was fine I guess, but the proportion on her good girl look was not good. The skirt wasn't cut right for her at all.

I really didn't like the resurrection of eating disorder jokes with giving Cheyenne tiny servings during the mini challenge :(

Man, this ep makes me cranky. The star of the show was Asia and also Michelle's boobs.

I'm still kind of grumpy about it because it made the critiques kind of weird, especially Michelle's "the balloons are dumb"/"okay the balloons make sense". I assume they did two judging sessions so the good personas could react?

Also, Kameron actually did really good at the challenge! Backstage, in Untucked.

Was it just me, or was Aquaria physically gagging at too many food groups on the table was weird and concerning?

If she's like me, the sight of that many food textures in one place triggered her autism. Thinking about lettuce on a pancake does actually kinda make me want to puke.

Well, tonight's challenge and lip sync winners were certainly choices.

I actually lean towards Aquaria as my favorite of the top 5, but Asia totally had the best grasp of the challenge and the clear best evil twin. As for the elimination, I don't think sending home Cracker was warranted, but I do agree with RuPaul that there's something missing about her vulnerability. I guess Ru was just over it at that point.

On a side note, I definitely would like to know more about the filming process for all the goofy Parent Trap stuff. It seems like they judged the good twins right away before seeing the evil ones, going by Michelle's balloon comments. How long was the gap between runways? Did they make the queens go back in their first looks to record reactions or did they just make them do multiple pretend takes? So many questions.

...has Aquaria come out and said that she's autistic or are you projecting or something? I'm not seeing anything online about it and it's kinda hosed to just assume someone is on the spectrum just because they're a bit of a weirdo. It was likely disgust at having to touch warm food that'd been sitting backstage for whoever the hell knows how long. Stale, stinky potluck realness.

Eureka was basic as hell and the judges salivating over her mediocrity simply reeks of producer interference.

This episode was corny as hell and the whole thing had me wondering how they filmed it, but I won't lie- I kinda adored it. Drag is camp, dammit!

That said- if Asia doesn't win I will absolutely make a face at my screen. Rigamorris for days.

lmao am I the only one who loved how stupid and cheesy the Ru twin moment/twins watching backstage bit was?

having both on the runway was weird, but i imagine the good looks were judged then they went off to change for the second runway so w/e. probably better to have them judge each look with them fresh in their minds

plus we got to see michelle admit she was wrong, which is rare and beautiful

i was fine with either aquaria or asia winning. asia grasped the challenge better, but aquaria's was still good and her runway was streets ahead of asia's (tho asia's evil twin was fuckin top notch) so it could swing either way for me and be fine

kameron owns and i'm glad she's top 4.

in fact this is exactly the top 4 i've wanted since monique went home
