You can specify the requirement of an aide when you book your flights but that aide only meets you at the airport and gets you through check in, they don't board the flight. My blind mother has done this before, but the boarding pass or the aide should specify that the passenger requires aid so the flight attendants are aware. I'm not sure what an airline can do for a passenger who is dead as well.
