I’m just worried the sheer number and 3 hour time limit will dilute groups unless you stumble upon a solid posse of raiders. But otherwise I can see people just wandering aimlessly hoping to muster the numbers to take one down.

Apparently it's a weaker, level 4 articuno and it's likely 3-4 trainers can take one out. people are already organizing hitting every EX gym in the city and I'm thinking I might skip it...maybe do one with my free pass, I dunno  i already have a bunch of articunos so I just don't see the need. Another Australian friend for goons wanting to spread the international gifts around, my girlfriend is jealous of all the gifts and would like goon friends too! 3933 3876 7500 I've also been wondering, when it comes to raids, is there a general rule of thumb to how many people you are likely to need to beat certain power levels of raid? I went downtown today to get a gift from a stop at Carl von Linné's house, thinking it would make a neat postcard to someone. Turns out it was just a boring picture of a plaque.  So I thought, hey, wouldn't it be kinda neat to be able to snap your own pictures and send them as postcards? A second later i realized that was probably the dumbest idea I ever had.

So wait, do Holiday Hat pokemon keep their gear when they evolve? I haven't touched the Witch Hat Pikachus I caught back at Halloween just because I was afraid the hats would disappear when they evolved into Raichu.

The birds land at 1:00 central time. Is anyone else noticing a lot more ghosts around? 1 or 2 in a morning is normal, but I caught 6 on my run today, one of which was a Sableye. Didn’t think he could appear outside of raids.

IIRC all level 1 and 2's can be soloed pretty easily by almost anyone. Most level 3s can be soloed, although some, like Machamp, you have to build a special team for. Level 4s, some you'd be fine with two people with strong counters/4-5 with less specialized counters, like Absol. Some can only be duoed with a weather boost helping your specialized, high-level team/you need 5-7 people with less specialized counters. Level 5s vary a lot, too. Regice isn't too bad, especially since most everyone have some decent fire counters. Four people with maxed counters can beat it, but a group of seven on Discord failed it because they were all low or mid 20s and didn't have powered up counters. Articuno is pretty dang weak, but they cut the raid time down, probably to prevent two people with maxed fighting or fire from just duoing it. Honestly, it's best to Google, or ask the community somehow. You can also use Pokebattler, but it takes time to input the info and fiddle around.

Generally, Pokemon with higher defense stats require more people/effort to raid. Regice is quite defensive so it takes more people than Articuno, and Articuno also has a double weakness to rock. The ice type has a lot of weaknesses in general though so at least anyone will have many options against them.

According to Pokebattler it would take 540 seconds (so 2 x 220) and 17 SD/SE Tyranitars at level 40 to do it. So yeah, it would be possible as long as you had a shitload of them. Wouldn't work with anything else, even a crew of Legacy Omastar would just miss it.

Went around with a group of 40 people, descending on gyms like loving locusts and only 3 of us got a shiny Articuno. I was one of them. It's only 84%. I couldn't give less of a poo poo!

Wait when is the Articuno thing? I actually have today off and the heat wave of death has ended so going out for a few hours would be good for me. e: Would it even be worth it for me to do this if Im only player level 20 and the only maxed out things I have are a Hypno and Cloyster?
