A good thing too 'cause that's hella boring. As long as it's still gold, had three heads, no arms, and wings, I don't see any reason why they should hue so close to the classic design. Use that money you got to make Ghidorah scary as gently caress. In fact, something like this concept art from Godzilla: Final Wars

It's pretty awesome honestly though I do have a preference for the bulkier Godzilla designs - I'm sure that's a big part of why I loved the Legendary one so much. I feel like if you make Godzilla's profile too thin or his limbs too lanky you'd have to work even harder on getting his movement and anatomy down in such a way that he doesn't come off as too humanoid like a generic lizard man or oni/ogre kind of monster. Or maybe go more out there and have him be thin but give him even bigger back plates and a huge tail or something. Honestly I'd love to see an attempt at it.

I don't think MechaG would work with Legendary Godzilla. To me, one of the most distinctive things about Legendary's take on Godzilla is that the military quickly gives up trying to fight him at all. He is completely and utterly beyond humanity's capacity to harm, so the military barely tries.

To fight monsters we created monsters of our own. Pacific rim 3 opens with John boyega going through a portal to fight the Kaiju in their own dimension but gets stuck in the legendary Goji franchise to fight much more interesting Kaiju.

Serizawa was great because he was the audience stand-in. We just gonna see Godzilla and we want to see him fight. Everyone else was all "naw, we got this". Then they loving failed hard then we saw Godzilla fight and it was amazing.
