Compared to the original it has a modified hammer and grip shape and a hardened steel blast shield behind the cylinder. Otherwise it's the same gun as before: a top-break double-action revolver chambered in .455 Webley (slightly less powerful than .45 ACP). Add $10 to the deployment cost to deploy with speedloaders. Just note that the cost of mounting a gun on a vehicle that isn't already built for it will have additional costs beyond just buying the gun. You need to pay the labor and materials cost for doing stuff like building mounts, running electrical or mechanical firing connections, adding triggers and sights to the cockpit, etc.

To be fair, both plans replace the revolvers. Mycroft's plan replaces everybody's guns with the fairly expensive T48 rifle, while mine only replaces the revolvers and the French rifles at a much lower cost. This is because everybody except the boat drivers gets a pretty decent weapon to start with, while the French expatriates start with a French rifle that will have a higher deployment cost.

July 15th, 1955 Current Weather: Sunny, 94 degrees The blazing heat is just barely tempered by Reginald drawing his curtains and turning on the desk fan behind him. Still, he's had to shed his jacket to avoid feeling like he's about to be drowned in his own sweat. Recruitment and purchases are finished and the men are settling into their barracks. Most of them are veterans, so hopefully they'll be accustomed to such quarters in the summer heat. The fan covers the noise of Garands cracking in the distance at the rifle range. As he finishes up his paperwork, one of the office staff comes rushing in. "We've got our first set of job offers!" She slaps the thick folder on his desk, the individual jobs neatly separated by dividing tabs. ----------------- Missions And here we get our first set of jobs! These are the bread and butter of your operation; similar jobs are taken by every merc outfit in America. A different set of jobs is available every month and will run the gamut from convoy escorts and VIP bodyguard detail to assisting in border wars and doing airshows or meet & greets. All missions occur simultaneously (so you can only send a soldier or asset on one mission in a set), and the situation with the world may change if you fail a mission or don't take one. If you don't take a mission when it's available, you can't go back for it later. On any mission, you can send any combination of NPCs as well as your own player characters. Keep in mind that these characters won't be available while they're on a mission, so don't send your personal character to go play border patrol if you want to be on the special op! Every mission has a challenge level which shows how difficult the mission is expected to be. Remember how soldiers have different ratings in different fields? Those are added up depending on the job they're doing, like Combat skill for infantry or Driving skill if they're going to be taking a vehicle into battle. Ideally the force you send will be equal or greater in total force score to the challenge level. You can win a mission with a lower score, but the chances of success will be lower and you may take more casualties than expected. Each mission also has expected combatants. You can tailor your planned forces to the actual expected resistance so you don't waste money and resources sending tanks and air cover out on a minor operation with little threat. Along with the individual soldiers, their personal weapons and vehicles add to the total force score. Better weapons and vehicles can turn the tide of battle, but they're also more expensive. If you modify weapons or vehicles, their deployment cost may increase or decrease depending on the modification (like requiring ammo purchases if you add weaponry to a vehicle that doesn't ordinarily have any). Make sure that the deployment cost of all the guns and vehicles you send out won't be so high that you fail to make a profit! Here's the generic force scores for guns: Pistols: 1 Shotguns: 2 Submachine guns: 2 Bolt-action rifles: 3 Semi-auto rifles: 3 Assault rifles: 4 Machine guns: 4 Sniper rifles: 4 Flamethrowers: 4 Grenade launchers: 5 Missile launchers: 5 Vehicle scores will change depending on the circumstances, as not all missions call for different types of vehicles. ----------------- Restore the DMZ The demilitarized zone between Mexico and the Republic of Texas is strained under both sides taking constant potshots, and it’s threatening to burst into all-out war. Both sides have sent an envoy to meet at the border, but there’s concern that nobody’s willing to wait that long before getting into a proper shooting match and the Republic of New Mexico’s politicians have been clamoring for a way to get Texas fighting a big power. The DMZ needs a tough security team that will keep the peace while diplomacy goes on and prevent anyone from interfering. Challenge Level: 40 Expected Combatants: Infantry Payment: $400,000 Presidential Escort The president of the Mid-Atlantic Coalition is meeting with the president of the Empire State to discuss tariffs. Another organization has taken care of the Empire president, so it’s your job to escort the Mid-Atlantic president’s limo to the hotel in Baltimore where this is all going on. Kamran "Cameron" Rajavi Why in the world would anybody willingly use devil imagery to represent themselves? Kamran can only sip his drink and roll his eyes. Even if they look competent, such images represent people deeply unsure of their own power. And Rupert owes him tea. --- Regarding the missions, would it be possible to take all of them simultaneously? Taking them in reverse order... Clear The Minefield 5 Demomen and 1 Expat French Soldier to do translation should be plenty. I think the French would like seeing their old home cleared anyway. Presidential Escort 4 Boat Drivers, 4 Staff Cars, and 4 M1 Carbines I think gives us everything we need for this op. We can task up to 2 Tank Drivers and 2 Expat soldiers, also with Carbines, if we need more, and we could probably do that. Restore the DMZ 8 Tank Drivers crewing both Greyhounds, one of the pilots flying the YR-5A, and the remaining soldiers equipped with, say, Garands or MAS-36s. And we can add more to any of these as we wish.

Reginald barely has time to review the first folder before a letter is dropped on his desk by yet another secretary, gone before he can even ask her what it's for. The envelope is postmarked with the United Air Freight international courier service markings and a Mid-Atlantic address. Hello, I represent the interests of Jennings Steel in the Mid-Atlantic Coalition. We would like to hire your operation for a discreet, low-key assignment at our foundry in Baltimore. Over the past several years, our foundry has suffered from a variety of machinery shutdowns and accidents. Preliminary investigation by a Pinkerton Detective has suggested the possibility of sabotage, which I am inclined to believe. The injuries and lack of productivity caused by these shutdowns has resulted in a strike that has completely shut down the factory, and the damage to our machines has led me to believe that any attempt to hire new workers will only end in disaster. We would like to hire a third-party organization from outside to investigate the scene and interview workers, determine the identity of those responsible, and terminate them. For the completion of this mission with proof of responsibility, we will pay your organization $400,000. Upon acceptance of the contract, a down payment of $50,000 will be delivered. Failure to perform the deed upon acceptance of the down payment will be taken as defaulting subject to penalties, including but not limited to military force. Upon acceptance of this contract, please send your team to 111 W. Heath Street in the southern section of Baltimore. We will provide further details there. We hope that our offer pleases you and that you will accept and appear post haste. E. Cummings ------- Baltimore is the capital of the Mid-Atlantic Coalition and the closest thing they have to a crown jewel. It's one of the biggest ports on the east coast of North America, one the New Confederacy and Empire State would both love to get their hands on. The rest of the city is a relatively normal for its area except for the rapidly increasing black population, mostly flight from the New Confederacy. Current weather reports indicate temperatures in the high 80s or low 90s along with almost daily rain. It'll be hot, humid, and wet. The job seems to be a standard investigation and assassination within a civilian area, but you'll be operating under a private company rather than on a government contract. That means you probably won't have permission to walk around openly with submachine guns and carbines, so keep them in the cars unless you have to and conceal as much as you can. Remember that any personnel and gear you take on a special op won't be available for general contracts and vice versa!

Kamran "Cameron" Rajavi Some time later... Huh. A detective mission. Kamran scratches his head as he looks over the mimeograph of the letter. That's like recon in urban areas, right? Should be right up his-- He chances a look at the heavy rifles and the huge recoilless launcher. Okay. Not quite up his alley. Not yet, anyway. He brushes aside some loose papers on the officer's lounge table for a pencil. A magazine falls open to an ad for a detective film never before seen in the Great Lakes. Kamran looks at the figure holding up his trimmed revolver against the darkness, and smiles. For my pre-mission purchases, I'd like to buy: x1 Fitz Special (.45ACP, $600) x1 Undercover Holster ($125) x1 Gun Case that looks like a Instrument Case (~$250?) So add $975 to Kamran's stupid extensive tab. Also, regarding Bac's plans, I think having a half track on hand for the CPD Limo Escort isn't a bad idea, but for god's sake, don't actually put it IN the convoy! And maybe cut three soldiers out of it and put them in the DMZ op--I'm pretty sure all crew slots are supposed to be filled on the M8 for consistency's sake.
