tlj is like so loving stupid thought I'd watch it and think "lol that was stupid" and move on, but then I thought about not only how dumb and pointless it was, but how PROUD it was of being dumb and pointless like it was too good to have a normal fulfilling but boring plot and it made me kind of mad.

I think Skippy The Droid is, like, supposed to be really stupid. It's a joke. It was the only Star Wars story that guy wrote so I'm pretty sure he's taking the piss. Now, Luuke ? i read almost every single book in the EU when i was in like 8th grade and even then i thought most of them were trash. star wars works well in exactly one dynamic - empire v. rebellion. the prequels suck partly because they try to create a completely new dynamic and fail, and the new movies suck partly because they try to rehash the first dynamic

Rogue One has just absolutely nothing going on except shooting and none of the characters even matter.
