One one hand you don’t want it to be like the USA where players have no affiliation with clubs and move all the time, but on the other hand it’s a job- people should be able to make decisions for their career. There are plenty of one-club/team players in American sports, even with free agency.

AFLW U18 champsionship day 2 is today: http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-07-09/aflw-under18-championships-results-and-fixture Some good stuff in there, a lot less congestion and more running than AFLW season 1 & 2. Once these kids get into the system it'll be great.

I'm glad Sloaney is staying with us.  But not as glad as one of my Facebook friends, who said this: "Rory Sloane has always been my favourite Crow. I love that blonde wonder child and have often screamed it where ever I’ve seen him. “Rory, you golden Adonis”. I was so used to the idea that he was going that I invented best case scenarios for him like he should sign a one year contract so he could pump his price up given his year has been injury prone or trade him early so that we could be properly compensated (more than some red headed cow poke from Geelong). Not unlike an errant lover, I resigned to thinking that he’d be better elsewhere. With the kind of charm and wit he possesses, media in Melbourne surely beaconed and what better way to endear yourself to xenophobic Victorians than by playing for one of their clubs. He would have seen what has happened to Dangerfield’s media profile and reasonably predicted that he would rule the airwaves for years. Who else is going to do it? Dusty? It’s only a matter of time before he goes full blown Cousins. Football lives are short, but media is forever. I never believed that Sloane would be mine...er...ours for life. Sometimes, if you love something you should let it free. Other times you need to lock that poo poo down, make them believe that they wouldn’t thrive anywhere else and chain them with obligation. This is not love story."

I just remembered that of the three players we got out of the Dangerfield trade (Milera, Gore, Menzel) only one is still on our list, and the two that aren't played four and zero games respectively. So Milera needs to be better than Dangerfield to win the trade.
