Still, from season 3 (Hydra god-cult) onward they find some fun ideas to play with that I'm not sure anyone could have anticipated given the relative grounding of the first season.

Like it blows my mind remembering posts about how people were rooting for him and hated Skyler with a passion. She's like the most grounded and sympathetic person on this show, aside from the "loving her boss" sideplot. Walt's assholery on the other hand is only outpaced by Hank and Pinkman.

the thing that struck me when rewatching breaking bad is how little actual meth smoker behavior is shown. like even when there are tweakers they're pretty tame compared to actual meth heads.
