It's by the same dude that did Human Centipede. I think that goes a long way toward explaining this movie. And also what to expect.

Gonna disagree, it’s real refreshing to see a trailer (for a horror movie, no less) that doesn’t spell out the entire movie in chronological order.

I like to believe they saw the reaction to Justice League and made Titans like this to avoid another financial failure, but DC's TV/streaming and movie divisions are not run by the same people.

It doesn't look much different from Arrow. And they have like 4 other campy or goofy shows. I'm sure it'll be garbage, but i don't see how it's "doubling down".

"gently caress Batman" caught me off guard, along with all the bone crunching and neck snapping.

Was that Hawk and Dove in the trailer too? I didn't recognize any of the other characters besides them and the main two.

Well, they were lighting things up a bit with The Flash, Wonder Woman, and Justice League... and then they turn around and decided to make Teen Titans into the bloodiest edge piece yet.

gently caress Batman, indeed.

I've only ever heard of Teen Titans in the context of a children's cartoon, and then another cartoon that my nephew said was even more childish. So, I guess what my question is, who is the target audience for this neck-snapping bloodfest?

People who were young when the first cartoon was out, got mad that the new cartoon was more childish, and are slightly older now and want a dark action-y edgy show.

He's not just Akiva Goldsman, screenwriter; he's Akiva Goldsman, Academy Award for Best Adapted ScreenplayTM-winning screenwriter.

(He won for A Beautiful Mind, which also won Best Picture and Best Director for Ron Howard, and is today best-known for being one of the movies that shouldn't have beaten what it was up against.)

Just a reminder that poo poo garbage film Crash won best picture in 2006 against Brokeback Mountain, Capote, Good Night and Good Luck, and Munich. It's very easy to split the vote amongst a bunch of better films so that the lovely one ends up winning.

What's the last pure comedy movie that won or was nominated for Best Picture? Come to think of it, what's the last pure comedy performance (i.e. not a comedy-drama) that won an acting Oscar? Off the top of my head, there's Kevin Kline in A Fish Called Wanda but there's got to have been some more since then.
