I've never gotten a good IV shiny, but I'm okay with that.

Except when I remember rolling with someone on Dratini day to chase perfects, and then getting a shiny perfect tini.

I'm not throwing gifts away, I don't have enough stops. I try to hit the gifting limit most days, and it takes effort.

I do strive to send fun ones though.

I'm confused how this bracelet works. Does it just catch everything you pass? How does it choose ball type? Does it curve? And does it still require < 25mph?

It tries to catch everything, but only one attempt. Only uses red balls. No curve throws. It's more forgiving re: speed limits but it's not immune to them.

So other than the collectibility, do I really want an evolved eevee with a Normal type move? I can't see the appeal - like with the electric sheep with dragon moves.

Seems kinda better to wait to evolve them?

Mine has a catch rate just shy of 50%. It's not too great at catching, but considering I only use it when I normally wouldn't be playing it anyway (driving) I treat everything that it catches as a bonus. I mostly consider it a passive stardust generator but I occasionally disable the catching mode so that I can restock on items.

As stated, the speed limit is a little more forgiving but for the most part it only spins stops at intersections. I use the Go-tcha, which is the offbrand version that many people prefer since the battery is rechargeable and the catching is fully automated (no button pressing or paying attention required).

e: on Android there is an app called Go Companion that helps manage the Go+ connection. It also keeps stats; so far mine has captured 2200 pokemon and picked up 6486 items.

Got my mind on doritos and doritos on my mind.
Yea go-tcha is great if you are busy/driving. Has about a speed limit of 35 for spinning pokestops. When I am actively playing I turn off the catching mode and leave on the spinning mode. The catch rate is definitely lower for higher cp/evolved Pokémon (ie usually the ones that are most worth catching). I’ve seen the catch rate is about 50% overall as well.

I think I remember that someone in this thread said you can go to a spot with a bunch of spawn points/pokestops, turn off WiFi/location services, and then go somewhere else and the go-tcha will continue to spin/catch at that location until it auto disconnects after an hour. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

My gotcha spins stops at 80kph if you turn catching off in-game. Otherwise the Pokemon that gather around stops take priority and it doesn't get to it in time.

The general consensus is that Last Resort sucks balls so yeah pretty much just for collectibility. You should wait for after the Last Resort window is gone to evolve a shiny if you don't want to waste a TM to change out Last Resort.

Last Resort is put in just to keep their community day promise of giving an exclusive move, but they didn't know what else to do with Eevee's multiple evolution options so they said "neutral option for all of them, not dealing with 5 different exclusive moves."

None f the research quests give encounters, there’s just the Eevee you catch. Plenty of them though.

I'm kinda salty because I got my first ex-raid today. I spent about an hour "commuting" to the city on a loving Saturday, only to notice that there were only two other people there, that you need at least 5 guys to beat the encounter and there is no scaling feature or anything that would make it possible to beat the raid with less. So yeah, that was a total waste of an afternoon.

Is this common? Because I don't really feel like doing that again the next time if the chances are it's gonna be the same again.

Is this true? I'm fairly new to this game and this is my first community event so I came here to ask if there was a known shiny rate. I took a very short walk, caught 7 or 8, and 2 were shiny. 80% and 73% IVs as well, so I'm happy with that.

That's crazy lucky.

The shiny rate is ~4% on Community Day. And they're just as likely to be crap as any other catch.

Well I managed to catch 38 Eevee's before lightning ran me in, only two shinies and both had horrible stats but still better than the zero shinies I got Squirtle day. Now I have shiny Jolteon and Flareon and there's always tomorrow.

Bunch of Eevees, 5 shiny (none with good ivs tho) and a Registeel and Absol from raids in the park. Only had an hour and a half to spare today to run around so it went pretty well all in all. Gonna be flying during CD hours tomorrow so no more shinies unless I get real lucky.

I got pretty lucky with a decent pile of shinies. I managed one of each of the gen1 eeveelutions and have started walking another for an espeon. They’re all pretty garbage IVs but these are the first shinies I’ve caught so I’ll take it.

Since it's a two day thing with 6 hours total they better make the next CD 6 hours. But they won't. I don't know why it's 3 hours either, since in England it goes from 10am to 1pm on a weekend. What I want to do at that time is to fuckin sleep after a week of work. At least if it was six hours I could wake up at around 1 and have a fun time in town from 2-4 getting shinies.

Also not resetting the naming trick stuff is stupid, sure you can get good IV Espeon and Umbreon with walking, but there's no guarantee the 98% shiny Eevee will become a Vaporeon.
