To my understanding, Umbreon sucks so bad that Last Resort is an overall buff on it. It isn't particularly useful on any other eeveelution. I tried to make one of each of the five with last resort as far as the normals go, but I only evolved a shiny umb during the event.

Espeon is a decent neutral dps with last resort, if you need that for filler in some comp. That's the only other thing I've seen

Saving my highest IV (read: still poo poo) male Eevee for that future Sylveon evolve. Caught it in the last 2 minutes of community day today. Anecdotally, most people in my town had pretty crap luck catching shinies today compared to yesterday.FistEnergy posted:Moltres....day...? I had a lovely weekend and wasn't able to get to a park to do mass Eevee Go-tcha trawling. So I only caught whatever spawned at my apartment. No shinies.  On the plus side, I've got a Mewtwo raid next Saturday. Our plucky little discord has been doing all right with the EX triggers.

Didn't get a chance to play on Saturday due to work, but I managed to snag 18 shinies yesterday. RNG was kind to me. Still haven't seen any Vaporeon though.

My shiny luck was pretty poo poo (3 Sat, 6 Sun), and I of course managed to capture a shiny I already had (a 4th shiny Swablu). I either caught or shiny checked around 600 Eevees, don't know what was up with my RNG. I caught more shiny Larvitars in 1 day than eevees in 2.

My wife got 1 shiny and 0 shinies and she was with me the whole time and I got quite a few. I've been wondering if the RNG is perhaps not so R, and there's something about her account data that gives her bad luck. She's gotten way fewer shinies than me overall, except for her 2 magikarp. In the coming month, I'm going to be in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Rome, Lauterbrunnen, and Zürich. I have Tauros to trade for a Kangaskhan or an Unown, if anyone's interested.

I think the community day spawns topped out at 30 minutes, while normal spawns went up to 60 minutes.

Had a pretty exhausting weekend, but managed to do the full 3 hours of community day on Saturday in Thailand and the full 3 hours on Sunday back in the US. Glad my flight times worked out enough to do that. Exceeded my goal of 9 shinies too, I think I ended up with 15 or so. Sadly didn't see any Tropius during my layover in either direction.

Friendship levels should help, since in their post about further insight into the trading system, they said this: "Next, we assign minimum stat values based on your Friendship level, and that base increases the higher that level is. In other words, as your Friendship level increases with a friend, you’ll have a better chance of receiving a strong Pokémon when trading." All I've heard locally through rumors is that the trade IV floor still isn't that high even if you get to best friend status, with it only being like 5/5/5 at best or just 3/3/3. If that's the case, then everyone still has a good chance that a trade reroll will come out as crap. I dunno how proven that is though since most people probably haven't gotten best friend status yet to add to stats about this.

Your best bet is to throw 2016s at them and hope they end up lucky. It'll take twice as long though. I'd level to Ultra Friends just for the stardust discount.

There's no shiny Eevee from 2016 though, or 2017 for that matter... Also does lucky Pokemon have a guaranteed better IV floor? I forget if people have gotten lucky Pokemon but their IVs were garbage or not. List of events to come because it's kinda boring in the PoGo world right now and no one wants to play in the heat so I'm looking ahead: Aug. 18th: Registeel ends, next legendary (unannounced) comes in. If Regirock, would last until Sep. 13th (4 weeks). Aug. 29th - Sep. 2nd: Safari Zone in Yokosuka, Japan. Sep. 1st: New stamp reward month, either Entei or Suicune. Sep. 8th: Most likely Moltres day if they ask the world to complete enough quests during Safari Zone like the other two times. Sep. 13th: If Regirock was in rotation from August, would end here and next legendary begins. Sep. 15th: Indianapolis Heart Walk Sep. 15th or 16th: Next community day due, who knows if it's on a Saturday or Sunday. Sep. 23rd: Viva CalleSJ ???: Celebi mythical quest when?? Is the coin pricing this dumb in other currencies? Aren't things supposed to be cheaper the more you buy? Why is it I can get 1500 coins for 15 bux but the 14.99 pack is only 1200 coins? I'd raise this issue with Niantic but i fear their "solution" would be to raise the price of the 100 coins rather then make the other options cheaper.

Hey, I finally caught the last Shellder I needed to finally cash in the field research I've been saving since the end of the Water Festival. Lapras, here I come! Now if only I could go back in time and wait to evolve my Magikarp until I was at that stage of the Mew research, I'd be on Easy Street.
