Looks like I picked a great time to start watching this series, now I gotta wait a whole week for a resolution to this cliffhanger  I imagine this was a two-parter partly to catch the viewer off-guard(last ep's preview had nothing but the erythroblast school) and partly so they can dedicate the entirety of the next episode to the fight with the cancer.

I watched the new episode with a biologist friend and have a dumb idea that I hope is an actual thing. He said that the immune system normally kills cancer cells because they recognize them as foreign because they're all mutated, but sometimes, a cancer cell appears that looks normal enough that the immune system ignores it. Except for NK Cells. So this whole thing with U-1146 and Killer-T not recognizing the cancer cell, but NK recognizing it, is actual biology. I was curious about how she knew that the cancer cell was cancerous. This show normally has some kind of metaphor for processes like this, but NK didn't seem to have any kind of visible detector, and then I got an idea. Possibly a dumb one. NK can tell that Cancer Cell doesn't have a background character design. U-1145 and Killer-T just see him as another cell, but NK is discerning enough to notice this mutation.

The ideal compromise is to have a half episode of something lighter and then the first third of the Cancer cell portion.

Not tons to add to what's been said, but I'm surprised at how fun this show has been. Very easy to watch and not quite what I was expecting. Tried it on a whim, since now I finally have some proper down time, and I'm glad I did.

Yeah some of those fight scenes and group shots were a bit bad looking. I was hoping this would be the episode they would go all out but it looks like it needs a touch up. Also I can't feel pity for the cancer cell no matter how much they try!

Please tell me Macrophage is holding a frying pan covered in blood and it's not just a badly drawn machete. I don't remember that particular moment from the episode, but I so want it to be a frying pan and it fits Macrophage's irreverence.
