Ethics_Gradient posted:When I was living in Japan, I bought an Atrai-7 that'd been smoked in pretty regularly. A night or two of the O3 machine knocked out 80% of the tobacco stink. The remained 20% faded over the next six months or so, in the meantime you only noticed it when you first got in. The Crown was also a one-owner that was smoked in heavily, a steam clean and ozone knocked out the smell completely. That was regularly cleaned though, this Pajero, nope! Speaking of the Crown, sold it (at a loss of course) to a guy in Georgia. He's a literal grandpa that thought it was super cool. Off on a flat bed it went and I wish him luck. everdave posted:Would you think it is one of the blade fuses or in the relays? Tomorrow morning I get my next three, we'll see if I can out-cool this.

Applebees Appetizer posted:That looks like a carpet cleaner not a steam cleaner. Hell of a deal, though. KakerMix posted:This one although I haven't done much carpet with it. It's been excellent for just obliterating the cigarette tar. Generally I'd have to go through a ton of cleaning products but now I've just been using distilled water, magic erasers, and a poo poo-ton of paper towels. Thanks, that's the one I was lingering on after you mentioned steam cleaning, oddly enough. Seems to have good reviews on Amazon and YouTube. For carpet cleaning, one trick a video gave was to work a small area, using both the steam cleaner and a shop-vac immediately after the steam cleaner, while the dirt and stuff is still affected by the steam. Cigarette tar is amazingly pervasive. You should have seen the house my sister bought and renovated. Former owners were lifetime smokers inside. Very ew. Lord of Garbagemen posted:If you want a fairly cheap restoration to trim pieces I have been using this on the 300zx to resto the trim : I can also recommend SEM Color Coat. That stuff is great. Some paint shops can custom mix it. You'd have to use a touch-up gun ot Pre-Val sprayer for that, though.

Pics of the Hiace are in from the port. Seats look to be in excellent condition now that the nasty covers have been removed and there are floor mats throughout except for the cargo area so I'm hoping the carpet is pretty nice as well. Also, the inspector and the auction photos indicated that all of the middle row head rests were missing but I guess it's actually only the center one. This thing was listed as a "3" with "D" grade interior and exterior!

Since we're currently looking for a warehouse to business from I'm not worries about the exteriors atm. Later today if I have sunlight still I'd like to get both AZ-1s out and do a side-by-side.

I am drunk but they have told me which houses grade way too harsh it’s no uss. My adjustable suspension works fine on Majesta it’s just subtle. Only thing not working or I don’t know how to work is hud. I’m still mad Kaker at your pic. Mad and envious.

I wasn't even giving "3" grades a first glance but Matt brought it up since I had been looking at town and masteraces that were 3.5 with higher mileage and in much worse condition cosmetically. He said they tend to grade harsh and this would probably be a 3.5 c c at other houses. Not sure if that's TAA in general or the Tohoku branch in particular.

Hey guys I am probably going to get this blue AZ-1 that is up inspected if no one else from here is planning on bidding. We shouldn't step on each others toes so let me know. It's probably out of my price range anyways.

Also is this normal it appears factory but there is a freaking road flare installed on the passenger side of the Majesta I got it registered and insured. Should be a lot easier at my County Clerk on the next one. Insurance didn't blink took 5 minutes. Had to drive home and take a pic of the VIN plate for the CC.

He said they tend to grade harsh and this would probably be a 3.5 c c at other houses. Not sure if that's TAA in general or the Tohoku branch in particular. TAA does grade harshly, the new AZ-1 I have had a D grade interior and I can't even begin to figure out why. re: flares: Every car I've gotten has either had the flare in it, or a place for it. My Acty even had a Honda-branded one. They are factory. DirkDonkeyroot posted:That's water damage, my fc looked just like that after the 2016 flood in Louisiana Yeah there is flooding in Japan right now, that GT-R is a flood car. Lots of people I follow on Instagram have been posting flooded car pictures. One of the guys I follow is an automotive wrecker in Japan that scraps out cars, his last few posts have been otherwise nice looking new cars with insides that look like that. I swapped the wheels around on the AZ-1s as I am keeping the Volks. Tires are real good and are in great shape too, but it's mostly about that premium rice. And the one flaw: There is a leftover mark of some sticker(s) they had on the hood too: Anime! This new AZ-1 is much, much nicer than the other one. I have to go through the throttle body and clean it and the MAF sensor to get the idle to behave itself, it's very 'lazy' atm. Good under throttle but if you let off it's like it wants to fall asleep. This one has super-low miles too. KakerMix fucked around with this message at 01:51 on Aug 21, 2018 |

everdave posted:Won Land Cruiser Prado. 24k km. 700k. Brown. Thoughts? Sheet says complete records to new. Curious about the mileage claim as it shows a * next to the mileage on the sheet. If it does have records since new then that would show the mileage for sure. Aftermarket wheels and an automatic. Looks great, but it has the 2.4 L 4 cyl instead of the more desirable KZ 3L one that hit in 1993 that everyone loves. Wife and I have been talking about our next not-tiny car for personal use as being a 4 door, 5 speed KZ-equipped Prado. Our 2 door is great but it's hauling a lot less weight around than a 4 door like this one. Dunno what an automatic would be like with than engine either. Still, peep that brown interior!

You can tell me Kaker what do you think about what I paid? $6300 Don't know! Prados have a "not a REAL Land Cruiser" from people that have Land Cruisers like Australia. For the US it shouldn't matter, it's a 4 door, automatic, turbo diesel Toyota Land Cruiser. I haven't even looked around to see about selling our Prado, but I can say we do get a lot of 'sweet land cruiser!' comments from people.
