Yeah I like the vibration while driving. I dig having that feedback. Other gotcha recommendations: 1. You can get different wristbands. Amazon has a shitload. It will make it look less like a toy, if you are a business dude catching pokeymans on the down-low. 2. If you're so inclined, another option is to attach it to a pendant or keychain and leave it in a bag, purse, pocket, whatever. You don't even really need the pendant, but the bean is really tiny. Also there's no totally secure wristband if you are clumsy and bump into things like me. It doesn't fall off randomly but when I brush against stuff it can pop out. Which is why the bag option is nice.

Especially when it's something like 8-10 seconds and a charged move is ready.

None of them are amazing enough for you to worry about so just pick your favorite, I'd say. personally I'm waiting for Leafeon or whatever with my 100 eevee, but I already have a bunch of the current 5

Also depending on good your phone performs, you might be short a few seconds at start if it took your phone that long to load the start of battle. Like you should be starting a Machamp raid at 180 seconds but mine typically starts me at 176 or 174. It really mattered because the raid ended for me a few seconds before 0 as well and I was a pixel or two from defeating it. I've been soloing Machamp a lot these days and I just learned to remove my Espeon. Didn't realize it was holding me back so much, probably due to its poor health not being able to fire off more than one charge move and wasting time with the slow Confusion as its best dps and building up to a second charge move that doesn't get to go off. My team's just a fully powered double psychic Mewtwo, a high double psychic Lugia, then the rest is unpowered weather boosted Ho-Oh with Extrasensory/Brave Bird. It does the trick now that I don't have Espeon in there even as the 6th spot.

Going to Seattle for the Foo Fighters concert this weekend, I hope if I sit in a lot of traffic the PoGo+ goes nuts for PAX Unowns  RE: Machamp solo - I use my team of Mewtwo monsters, it usually wrecks them pretty well with 45 seconds left or so.

If you have an android phone, install calcy iv. Scan a bunch of your best pokemon, then hold down the calcy iv overlay icon, select the monster face, type in the raid boss and and it will tell you who your best pokemon to counter that boss are. (Because the "optimal counter" you have might be low level or have the wrong moves) You can select the weather from the cloud icon on the right, that can have a huge effect on your team. And If the boss has already kicked your rear end once, you can select its moves too. Also you can select the team based on DPS if the raid is an easy win, or max total damage if it's close.

Alright I just tried CalcyIV after everyone's been recommending it to me. Works nice, I'm just wondering if it's extra battery drain just to run it because my phone's batteries (yes plural) sucks rear end and have been draining quick and just want to know if I should be switching this off and on only when I want to know IVs/stats.

I ran calcy iv until I burned a small circle into my screen and I didn't notice any additional battery drain. It's the game itself that's going to eat through your batteries.

Never had any appreciable battery drain from calcy. Not sure about the screen burn in from the button, but I'm sure some phones that would be an issue to watch for.

Back from Iceland, had a lovely time. Hope those of you who friended me enjoyed the gifts, mostly from MMCXX, since that's where our airbnb was on top of. Sadly the signal outside of Reykjavik was spotty, but surprisingly there were poke stops and gyms in even some of the most remote places we visited, like the Westman Islands. Didn't exactly have time to do any Ho-oh raids, so hopefully some of my local friends caught enough to trade me one for a mime or volbeat. I would 100% recommend Iceland as an awesome vacation spot, but holy crap is it expensive. 3/4 of a tank of gas was about $200 USD.

I have a couple Espeons, a couple Exeggucutors, and an Allakhazam. I need 2 more good Mons to make it doable. But I can't find Kirlia raids lately and I can't walk anymore Eevees until I'm done walking this stupid Magikarp.

So I finally have been re naming some of my Pokémon on specific movesets, and I ran into a fun one: I got a Tyranitar on community day, so I went to label that Pokémon “Smackdown.” Well, apparently Niantic doesn’t like that, a text comes up that says “that name contains inappropriate text” and you just can’t name it that. So, beyond the whole censorship part (which is dumb but whatever) I’m just like, well why did you let Tyranitar learn an inappropriate attack then? And hopefully it’s everyone, and I didn’t turn on some parental control accidentally.

I got an Alolan Sandshrew that said it hatched in Reykjavik from your or your girlfriends gifts. Unfortunately the IV isn't very good, but it's still pretty drat cool.

I've got several people coming up to Ultra Friend status, and I'm trying to figure out how to time it so all those 50,000 xp rewards come in when I'm using an egg. What's the best way to do this? Hold one of their gifts with one day left until they're all lined up, and then accept their gift and send them one in return?
