You can keep going with a scythe for a long time as long as you remember to let gravity do as much of the work as possible (which means the blade has to be sharp, of course), and you have a scythe that's the right loving length for you. Sickles are from Satan though.

I haven�t gotten to any of the extra content but I think the Master (hard) mode has really made the game better. It forces you to explore and try out different styles to avoid getting your face bashed in.

Supposedly the motorised versions of these are one of the best ways to cut a lawn, haven't tried it myself though. Too expensive.

to answer your question: IMO yes the DLC is worth BUT the master sword trials are puzzle-combat and i wasn't diggin the combat by the time I hit that point, AND the shrines the DLC adds are extremely good and clever, but that's the bulk of the DLC: more fuckin shrines
