I mean, you can get a used jet ski off CL for about 900 bucks. Some context for those who don't follow this trainwreck closely, you could historically always watch the streams of this event for free. It's also always been terrible, with the previous years CitizenCon being so bad that they changed their follow up "Holiday Stream" to be pre-recorded instead of being live.

So are they just greedy or are they actually running out of money? How have they raised *googles star citizen funds raised* Jesus christ, 181 million dollars, and still have no game to show for it? Also isn't this the kind of thing you would want to make free, so people who haven't invested any money will see it and think 'oh this looks good, I might get in on this'?

I don't know much about the industry side of games, but does the big triple A stuff even get a budget as big as Star Citizen has? Maybe I'm wildly underestimating how much games cost to make, but I can't imagine even something like COD or Battlefield cost 200 million. Basically, is this poo poo show the biggest waste of money the games industry has ever seen?
