Had probably the luckiest day since the game launched today. Headed to my EX raid and caught my first shiny Wingull when I arrived. Caught the (terrible IV) Mewtwo, and immediately swapped it with the guy standing next to me. Turned into 87% and lucky. A minute later I caught a shiny Natu, followed by a second shiny Wingull. I'll take it.

Some guy with a daughter that comes to raids suddenly showed up recently with an ahegao hoodie and it threw me for a loop. No one gave him attention for it and I hope he just never wears it again. Just why, you have a daughter, dude. The same guy also recently got attacked at a raid by some tweaker. I was told by regulars they were all raiding at the local library and some strung out dude was getting really upset they were playing (nowhere near him) and how it "defiled the sanctity" for the librarians working there. The gyms are just statues outside in a courtyard and at the parking lot loop and nowhere inside the library. They just ignored him and kept playing and the guy continued shouting and telling them not to cross a certain line. The guy that wore the ahegao hoodie I mentioned had his daughter with him and since I wasn't there, no one's exactly sure if he purposefully or unintentionally crossed the crazy guy's "line," so the crazy guy goes up and decks him. No serious injuries but his sunglasses go flying and they said the daughter wasn't even really aware what was going on. No fight ensued, everyone came to stand between the two and told the crazy guy they were calling the cops and he ran. Apparently the crazy guy hid under a nearby bridge and some random girl on a bike rode by and told the cops where he was and they went to go take him away at taser point.

Sorry, I should have put a short description for ahegao so you don't have to google this stupid new 4chan-ish trend. People think it's funny now to make clothing or decals or prints of anime porn faces of characters in the throes of, well, porn acts. Those prints cut out the rest of the body so it's technically safe, which is probably why people who wear/buy these things think it's funny that it's "porn but not porn." Their whole reason for wearing/buying these things are so they can stand around shifting their eyes watching for a reaction from anyone and at best, hoping someone gets uncomfortable enough to tell them not to wear porn in public so they can retort with "But is it porn??"  So yeah, young dad that drags his daughter around to raids decided to wear a hoodie covered in this kind of print. That's why most of us don't feel that sorry for him getting punched by some weirdo.

Posting at 2am from PAX and I've finally been able to hold the gym at our hotel for more than 5 minutes. So many people playing it's hard to get a single coin from a gym before its torn down by one team and then immediately torn down by another in on endless cycle.

Nanabs are good as snacks for whoever you have in a gym when you can't be bothered giving them a golden Razz berry. Otherwise they are first to get trashed when I'm out of bag space.

I'm up to 1200 now, with a slow accumulation of max revives/max potions from gifts using up 400 slots between them. And I still delete nanabs on sight.

So in regards to special trades, if I have a shiny Pikachu, and evolve it, now shiny Raichu, and work out a trade with someone where they're going to trade me a shiny Pikachu, would that still count is a shiny special trade in terms of stardust, or just a regular special trade when he wants a non shiny back?

Good event overall. We both got a few shiny wingull, and I caught a shiny snubbull last night. I'm surprised that the goon collective here hasn't created a couple throwaway accounts to pass around so everyone can get regionals. We have a few people in town that travel enough, but I don't have any shinies I want to trade for most of them.

So someone in Europe catches a bunch of Mr Mime, then someone in the US logs in and trades a Mr Mime to oneself for a Pidgey or something. This reminds me: to the nice Nashville goon who was holding a Mr. Mime for me, I sadly probably won’t be by Nashville for a year or so. So trade away.

That's exactly how I felt when I caught mine, but turns out that even lovely Mewtwo is better than like 90% of attackers outside of edge cases with rare weaknesses / weather boosts. Having a beefed up Mewtwo and Machamp means I basically never have to worry about switching pokemon during a gym battle anymore. I got a second Ex Raid pass and was hoping to get a better Mewtwo, but sadly I had to be somewhere when it was scheduled and missed it by 30 minutes.  I just started playing again so I don't know anybody in the local community that I would have trusted enough to to the raid for me, but hopefully I snag another pass someday. Sounds like I got pretty drat lucky getting 2 in 2 months.
