3D graphics only became a thing in the doujin scene pretty recently so there are still going to be rough edges. The best-looking one is probably Sky Arena and it's a lot of fun if you like the Gundam Versus/Virtual On style.

I'm not necessarily looking for cutting edge grafix, just something cohesive and nice to look at. I think Labyrinth of Touhou 2 looks really nice and slick, for example.

Genso Wanderer has nice and slick art design, at least in gameplay (some of the portraits bug me a little). I'm not sure I'd say it's actually fun to play though.

I enjoyed playing the “Shiren the Wanderer” Mystery Dungeon games on the DS, so Genso Wanderer felt right at home, being a clone of that. That being said, if you have a Switch, they recently released a port on it that seems to include some improvements and DLC, if you’re interested.

Switch sounds like the best way to play a game like that and has gotten me more interested already. Rpgs work a lot better for me when they're portable, it's hard for me to commit to playing for a long amount of time on the couch or w/e. I've really liked the pokemon mystery dungeon games (or at least the first two) so I'd pick it up just as quick assuming everything's about the same.

I haven't played the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, but are you okay with "Reset to Level One" End Dungeons? Almost all of the dungeons in Shiren (and thus, in Genso Wanderer) work this way. If that doesn't deter you, you should be good to go and have fun.
