it'd be interesting 2 read an interview or something with Lori Jo considering how close she is 2 norm & directly involved in pretty much everything he does

I hope he's given up any pretense of being a "real" interviewer, some of those later podcast episodes were corny.

Norm used to take the free car service that Lorne Michaels sent over to shuttle the SNL cast to the afterparty every week and he'd go to Atlantic City and gamble instead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tc6Xzxt_vig

Great showing in the new series. It stands to serve as contrast and subtle reinforcement for the fans of the original Norm MacDonald Live style. You can really feel the constraints of a ~30 minute block with the capricious editing. The 'audience' is quite a bit more cloying, like the Carrey episode of Live, but this particular string of guests probably needed the encouragement. I don't think anyone finished the show unflapped, excepting perhaps Letterman, who appeared in his signature role of dead-man-walking. JJ, Fonda, and Chase are the standout episodes for me, with Billy Joe rounding out the set with something a bit more casual. Norm's current 'predicament' was well telegraphed during the dialog with the guests. The chat between M. Night & Norm was also a standout, given the former's clinical perspective meeting that of a comedic clinician. Adam Egret is in fine form; forearms never fiercer. Edit: I almost forgot... the various photos interspersed with the interviews are pure gold (or silver), with the silent recording of Norm & Chase taking the cake. Take that internet! Yeah, it was a quality show, and I loved how warm and nice Norm was to his guests and how his guests respected him too. It was nice to see calm civil discussion between people on television.
