I hope CMLL starts booking Flamita, Horus, and Bandido as a trio and brings in Daga to tag with Fenix and Penta as la rebelión

I love Shingo. I love New Japan. I don't want to see Shingo show up in New Japan, outside of a G1 guest spot or something like that. He'd just end up lost in the shuffle of a roster already stuffed to the brim with talent. I'd rather see him keep tearing things up in BJW or All Japan, like he has been in his outside bookings over the past year.

I can see him finagling his way to a Wrestle Kingdom payday and then that would be it.

so basically he's got a handshake with the Lucha Bros that's out the window if NXT stacks tall enough cash and Salina's not exactly on anyone's radar so she signed an actual contract.

And the mercy seat is awaiting,
And I think my head is burning,
And in a way I'm yearning,
To be done with all this measuring of proof.
An eye for an eye
And a tooth for a tooth,
And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.

Jimmy Havoc did a promo/interview on PROGRESS doing Wembley Stadium, which is pretty huge, and made a comment sort of regarding the re-rise of deathmatches

quote:

Havoc added there will also always be a place for hardcore wrestling at shows around the world.

“As long as it is done well, there is a place for it,” he said.

“The biggest criticism of it was people just hitting each other with weapons without any training.

“People were using the hardcore stuff as a crutch to mask the fact they could not wrestle.

“Hardcore matches are at their best when they end a feud – if it does not call for it, then there is no point in doing it.”

He's right in that untrained part but the other problem was oversaturation, when hardcore is just every match everytime it loses any chance of being a thing. Compare with Gargano v Ciampa which are not the most extreme matches you'll ever seen but given the stakes and the feud it feels like a real blood feud even though they never gig - its a blood feud without blood and still feels brutal.

Gargano vs Ciampa feels more like a couple of goofs overacting and wondering how they are so violent.

Complaining about deathmatches because of "oversaturation" and then turning around and praising the horrifically overexposed Gargano/Ciampa shitfest that would have been good if it ended after the first match is a real trip.

Masashi Takeda has probably been in more deathmatches than those two clowns have looked at their hands and wondered how they could possibly be so violent between them and he's been one of the best wrestlers this year while they couldn't gently caress off soon enough.

Couldn't agree more. Gargano Ciampa should have ended after the first match but of course they had to drag the feud out and ruin it with lovely booking and overexposure.

Gargano/Ciampa is the most cornball match I've ever seen, anyone who thinks it's a positive example of death match wrestling desperately needs to watch non-WWE produced shows.
