Results Blockade Busters A rousing success unprecedented for such a new organization! The Goon Squad was responsible for the destruction of 3 Neo-Confederate Sherman tanks and a large number of enemy troops through precision airstrikes and carefully crafted assaults. The route between the Sunshine State and New France is clear....for now. That Mine is Mine Armed with Thompson Light Rifles, your squads hunted through the dark coal mines of the West Virginia mountains for saboteurs. Their ears are still ringing, but they made it out with no casualties into the waiting arms of their half-tracks. Appalachia is in your debt. Taking the Tanker The tanker was more heavily defended than you expected. What you did expect in retrospect was the presence of Horn & Hammer troops aboard. Looks like you killed a good number of the NYC force that wasn't present during your dramatic chase up the East River, but three of the former French soldiers you hired were killed reclaiming the vessel. Alright! Now we've got lots of money! Kamran "Cameron" Rajavi Kamran had brushed up on the United States' military history before coming to the country (well, countries now), so he knew how weird it was to see an M4 "Sherman" tank labelled by its commander and crew as "Forrest." He lined up the head of the odious painted cavalryman in the sight of the M18, and he knew that the rest of the platoon were sighting up "Mosby" and "Ashby" in quiet professionalism. "On my signal, open fire," he said into the radio, before checking the alignment of his recoilless rifle one last time. "You'll know what it is." Three, two, one, squeeze!-- ------ RIIIING! *BANG! BANG! BANG BANG!* RIIIING! The carbine's weight balance was as unfamiliar as the new firing range he was testing in. As he was expected to be a squad leader at home, he'd trained on the weapons of a squad leader--submachine guns, heavy launchers--but now weapons technology was beginning to turn in a different direction. The least he could do was be familiar with the new wave. RIIIING! *click BANG! click BANG! click BANG!* RIIIING! ...though he had to admit his Fitzed revolver also had its charms. When he unloaded and returned his weapons to the armory, he picked up a catalog with guns labelled "NEW!" and "BETTER!" in glossy print on the cover. Yes, weapons tech had gone in many different directions since his training days. His eyes turned to one particular model from the Mohave. What an interesting creature... ------ Well then, nice results, and lots of cash! Let me see. For training, I'd like to request that Kamran train for 1 point in Guns (Pistols), 1 point in Guns (Rifles), finishing off the point in Search (44/100 currently), and then ST training. I think that's (25+25+56) = 106 hours, which should be fine, since last time he had 144 for Search training. For equipment purchases, I don't know what the group wants, but I'd like to surrender Kamran's M3 Grease Gun to the pool and pick up a shiny new Hill H15 for $1900 / 2 = $950. And get a suppressor and a holster for it as well! I don't know how much that will cost, though. For building purchases, I think we're clear to buy a command center. Maybe a Sauna, as well. We may want a garage or vehicle warehouse if we're getting a lot more vehicles. For hires, we should hire at least the three replacement French expats, and then we should look into getting trainers as well as soldiers. A PT trainer for general ST/HT training may be of use. Kang rubbed his eyes, looked down and groaned. It'd been a week since he'd gotten back from New York and his body was still a covered in a nasty mosaic of purple bruises. The dozens of tiny splinter wounds peppering his hands and face were just starting to heal, leaving behind angry little scars. Examining himself minute mirror, Kang frowned. He'd never been an especially handsome man. By the looks it, New York hadn't exactly helped matters. Still, scars meant survival. And if Kang was anything, he was a survivor. To keep his mind occupied while he waited for the next mission, Kang wandered around the base to get a better feel for his new home. Popping in on Grunn, he finds his friend hard tinkering with the new limousine. The Dutch mechanic has great plans for the Goon Squad's newest ride. Hidden machine guns. Maybe even some bulletproof glass and a radio. Although he doesn't know much about machines, Kang does what he can, shimmying into tight spots underneath the car to loosen bolts or hammer home a new part. Within a few hours, the limo is nearly in pieces and the two men are covered in grease and tuckered out. Hungry from his hard work, Kang heads off in search of Spamwich. The mess hall staff weren't thrilled to see him or his greasy footprints. Kang's blithe request of "sandwich juseo" was greeted with a thrown coffee cup and an enraged cook calling him a "filthy sonofabitch." Beating a hasty retreat, Kang formulated a new plan of attack. Squeezing through a window, he filched a couple cans of Spam and squeezed his way back out again. As a kicker, he stole the cook's hat and perched it atop the camp flagpole to the delight of everyone but the red-faced cook. His belly full, Kang spent the rest of the day in the killhouse, scrambling over plywood barricades and blazing away at carboard targets with his cut-down carbine. By the day's end, Kang was feeling a lot more limber. Flexibility: You get +3 on Climbing rolls; on Escape rolls to get free of ropes, hand- cuffs, and similar restraints. You may ignore up to -3 in penalties for working in close quarters (including many Explosives and Mechanic rolls). 5 points.

OscarDiggs/Rupert had a good idea in Discord, I figured was well worth sharing. Standardized squads with a set number of people weapons, etc. It'd make our planning easier and Chit's calculations easier if we can just say "send 1st Platoon on mission A, send the TD Platoon in mission B, etc." To that end, here are some examples we could create right now. Armored Infantry Squad (3x Squads per Armored Infantry Platoon) - mobile infantry with lots of firepower for bigger battles, escort missions, etc. 1x M3 half-tracks with M2HB (.50 BMG) 12x Great Lakes Soldier 1x Great Lakes Factory Worker - as driver 11x Thompson Light Rifles (.30 Carbine) 1x T52E2 machinegun (.30-06) 1x M79 grenade launcher (40mm) 1x M1 Bazooka (2.36 inch rockets) Armored Car Section (2x Sections per Armored Car Platoon) - for recon, escort, and other missions 2x M8 Greyhound armored cars with 37mm, M1919 coax (.30-06), M2HB (.50 BMG) 10x Great Lakes Tank Drivers 10x M3 Grease Guns (.45 ACP) With a few new purchases and new recruits, we could form these units. Tank Destroyer Section (2x TD Sections per TD Platoon) 2x M18 Hellcat tank destroyer with 76mm gun and M2HB (.50 BMG) 10x Great Lakes Tank Drivers 10x M3 Grease Guns (.45 ACP) Groupe d'Assaut - hardened French veterans trained as shock troops. The DUKW gives them some extra mobility so they can insert and attack from unexpected directions. 1x DUKW 2x New French Machine Gunners 8x New French Expatriate Soldiers 2x Browning M1919 Stingers (.30-06) 4x Thompson M1928A1 (.45 ACP) 4x T48 (.30-06) 2x Panzerfaust 30 PT Boat Crew - for naval operations and boarding actions, with a couple of frogmen on board for demolitions, sabotage, and recon. 1x Elco PT Boat with two twin .50 cals, 20mm Oerlikon, 37mm cannon, and 40mm Bofors 10x Conch Republic Boat Drivers 5x Sunshine State US Navy Sailors 2x Sunshine State Navy Combat Diver 7x Thompson M1928A1 (.45 ACP) 10x M1 Carbines (.30 Carbine) 2x High Standard HDM (.22 LR) 2x V-42 Stiletto 2x M37 Demolition Kits Demolitions Team - mobile and armored, so they can fight alongside the armored infantry. Perfect for tank-hunting or bunker-busting. 1x M3 White Scout Car with M2HB (.50 BMG) 5x Great Lakes Demo Men 1x Great Lakes Factory Worker - as driver 1x Carl Gustaf M/48 Recoilless Rifle (84mm) 1x M2 flamethrower 6x M1A1 Carbines (.30 Carbine) 5x M37 Demolition KitsM37 Demolition Kits And as we grow, we can create some more specialized formations. Anti-Aircraft Section (2x AA Sections per AA Platoon) - for AA defense when we don't have air support. Or for some extra firepower. 2x M13 GMC with dual M2HB (.50 BMG) 10x Great Lakes Tank Drivers 10x M3 Grease Guns (.45 ACP) Self-Propelled Artillery Section (2x SPA Sections per SPA Platoon) - for indirect fire support as artillery or direct fire support as assault guns/tank destoyers 2x M3 GMC with 75mm gun 10x Great Lakes Tank Drivers 10x M3 Grease Guns (.45 ACP) Police Patrol - a squad car full of experienced cops backed by some muscle. Perfect for bodyguard work or riot control, situations where a squad of fully-armed infantrymen is overkill. 1x 1947 Cadillac 60 Special (in black, with removable light and siren) 2x Empire State NYPD Officers 2x Great Lakes Soldiers 2x Remington Model 29 (12 gauge) - with beanbags and buckshot 2x Colt Police Positives (.32 S&W) 2x Thompson Light Rifles (.30 Carbine) 1x Tru Flite 37mm Super Long Range Gas Gun (37mm) Sniper Team - scouts and marksmen with high-powered rifles and a motorcycle for quickly getting around the battlefield. 1x 1942 Harley-Davidson Servi-Car 2x Great Lakes Soldiers 1x Remington Model 720 (.300 H&H Magnum) with bipod and telescopic sight 1x FN FAL Sporter (.30-06) with bipod and telescopic sight. For the time being, I think we should work towards getting a full Tank Destroyer Platoon, getting a second Armored Infantry Platoon (we already have enough men for the first one), setting up the Demo Team and PT Boat Crew. If we have cash, we could also look into hiring a few of the Frenchies again. To do that, we'd need: 3x M18 Hellcats 2x M3 Half-tracks 1x M3 White Scout Car (Various weapons) 15x Great Lakes Tank Drivers 3x Great Lakes Factory Workers (already have four) 1x Conch Republic Boat Driver 5x Sunshine State US Navy Sailors If we have any cash left over, I figure we should throw it at building the Command Center and a Large Garage. Oh, and Matilda's ad campaign sounds like a great scheme for us! Any ideas on what kinds of units we should build? Or which ones we should try to build first? After the car chase an idea forms in the Grunns head: A car but better! Letting the idea percolate in his head he thought about Reginald. How he gets sidelined as a talker rather than a fighter. After riding back to main base a lot of concepts are in his head. Starting to work on the car, the Cadillac Limousine, it gets it shape. He works putting in two 30-06 sawed-off M1919A4's with 250 bullets each hidden behind the lights. While armouring the passenger compartment to DR 21 Kang drops in to help. "Thanks Kang, could you help with the heavy plates?" After that he worked on the engine to carry the extra weight so it isn't slowed down. The modification to let Reginald drive the car are, in Grunns perspective, the crowning achivement, if mercenary work stops he could always start working on handicapped peoples cars. The end result is a car not made to stand up to AFV's but more than capable against anything civilians might throw at it. Stago Lego fucked around with this message at 15:12 on Oct 3, 2018 |

Accounting for the intended modifications, the base price (with the .50s removed, and some minor modifications) is 927,000, and we'll have to pay 50,000 to order two Rheinmetall autocannon from Germany.

Surrounded by magazine clippings and doodles of guns, Kang enthusiastically recites his wishlist to the haggard-looking company clerk and some bemused machinists. He unslings his M2 PDW and lays the little gun on the table. "My little rifle [the M2 PDW] should have a threaded barrell [$50] and Cutts...what is it? Ah, Cutts Compensator [$100] and a baffling silencer [$100?]. Sights for night shooting [$75] and tape all the magazines for my carbines [$23]." Kang plunks the heavy M1928A1 Thompson on the table, leaving a visible dent in the pine boards. "I want to lighten this. It's too drat heavy! [Can Grunn or Matilda make an Armory roll on this?] "I want a spare Cutts Compensator [$100] for when I do not want the silencer. Night sights, too, for the dark [$75] and I'd like to get the gun to fit [$1100] and have a one-point sling [$10, 0.8 pounds]. I think the folding stock is bad for, um, balancing the gun? Too much weight at the front. Please help fix it." Kang's car gun, the M2 Carbine with the folding stock, gets added to the growing mountain of guns. The clerk's eyes widen and the machinists try to stifle a laugh. Kang barely notices, he's on a roll now. "One point sling [$10, 0.8 pounds], night sights [$75], threaded barrel with a Cutts compensator [$100] and a baffle silencer [$100?]. Perfect gun for anyone to borrow on a mission!" "Matilda saved us all with this gun last mission. Five bullets right into that Nazi!" Kang lays his two pistols, the Hi-Power and the Webley, on the gun pile. "Night sights [$75] for the 9mm. And shave the Webley for .45 ACP." Kang slides a slip of paper over to the clerk, covered with rough handwriting. One of the tankers had been kind enough to write down the rest of his shopping list. The new F7 fighter had barely been delivered before Matilda began dismantling it, removing the nose-mounted .50 caliber machine guns. The reason why was unclear until she had it towed to the "calibration range" - a muddy patch of ground overlooking the lake, where maintenance crews test-fired vehicle-mounted weapons. With a roar like ripping canvas, the two new guns mounted in the nose fired as many rounds as the four guns they replaced - except each round was several times as large.

Sitting in his chair, Reginald watched, deep in thought. "I wish we'd had a decent cannon during the war. Our Hispano-Susa knock off was garbage and the German and Soviet cannons were good. So good you're using them!"
