Do not look up fluffy ponies. My understanding - solely based on posts in prior threads - is it came from bronies who weren’t satisfied with merely sexualizing and gatekeeping media intended for children and wanted to go the extra mile by making something so disturbingly abusive most bronies won’t touch it. These are real people in our real society, and despite what we assume of these sort of men there’s a non-zero chance one is a parent, or at the very least an uncle. I hate this timeline.

I think it's more like there are some people who hated MLP and bronies so they created mentally and physically handicapped mini ponies with large birth rates so they could create torturous scenarios to stick them in. If you go looking, you will find these creatures being drowned in their own excrement, made to eat their own children, forced to watch their children be tortured and killed, whipped, cut up, placed in stress positions for months or years, starved, burned, etc etc etc. Whatever sadism the artist can come up with has been inflicted on fluffy ponies in a weird expression of their distaste for MLP. Do not go searching for more. There is no honor in it, there is no reward in it, there is nothing to be gained in it. Treasure your innocence regarding this one broken corner of the world.

I am not 100% sure, but I think I remember this predating bronies. Which means it's just something someone came up with on their own. Which is much worse. EDIT: Looked it up (in incognito mode) because I hate myself and it isn't as old as I thought it was, and I am wrong. It's directly Brony related.
