vinyl storage question... I'm hoping to build some very shallow shelves for displaying records in my living room. Would having records in the sleeve at a very shallow angle like this be damaging to them? I figured I'd rotate out what's on the wall every month or two just based on what's in heavy rotation. this is more or less what I have in mind: https://www.wearewellmade.com/shop/visible-vinyl-wm

Only problem you'll have is maybe some dust on/in the jacket

the correct vinyl storage method is vertically, in an underground bunker, away from the damaging effects of ultraviolet light, dust and disgusting human skin oils.

MMD3 posted::laughing: will happily take that two hearts beat as one single off your hands. I saw them perform 2 hearts live in NYC a few years ago, they've only performed in a handful of times since '89. I will send it your way if you wanna pay the shipping (US only). Little dirty but plays fine. Cover seams are all unglued and edges are rough. *Edit It seems to be this version... https://www.discogs.com/U2-Two-Hearts-Beat-As-One-Club-Version/release/4156544 but with the french cover. Dunno. Mike_V posted:Please to be sending the 80s club edits to a home that isn't owned by a dipshit Of course. I will see if any of my DJ friends want them and if not I'll post them here. They really aren't anything good... Crappy synth pop and 80's disco. Most of it is $1 bin fodder. There might be a little gem or two in there but that will just go for paying for the hours of my life I can't get back listening to some of this stuff. sporklift fucked around with this message at 03:59 on Sep 21, 2018 |

Got my monthly VMP box and MrSargent's 45's today. Pictures later but it's a pretty big haul. VMP forgot to send me Black Sabbath's Paranoid though.

Went to a Devo video retrospective tonight with a Jerry Casale Q&A afterward. Lots of good rambly anecdotes about label execs, Jermaine Jackson, cocaine and fist fights.

My Numark TT1600 turntable has a straight tonearm and I've been meaning to get an angled headshell for it. I'm only seeing a couple of options on Amazon, but I wanted to see if anyone had a specific recommendation. Otherwise I'll probably get this Audio Technica headshell that claims to be universal.

Just wanted to make sure it isn't bad for the vinyl, the bulk of my collection will live in a media credenza I built recently. sporklift posted:I will send it your way if you wanna pay the shipping (US only). Yeah a little bit ... it was $175, which is the most I've ever paid for a record by at least $50. This one has the yellow labels, so based on discogs I got a good deal.

Ballz posted:My recent record haul. First up is Vinyl Me, Please: Awesome haul! Glad the 45s arrived safely. I also picked up Sorcerer this month and I really enjoyed it. Got Soul Makossa the first month it was released and it’s incredible, definitely made a couple beats with some of the sick drum breaks. I finally got my copy of Ye today and coincidentally Nasir also arrived today. The packaging on the Kanye album is about as basic as it gets, but I now have all of his albums on vinyl which is neat.

Ok I don't know if this is still available but I was able to snag one (no idea how). HMV is doing a first ever pressing of Nujabes' Metaphorical Music on vinyl and there is a limited amount available. You have to pay shipping from Japan, but I don't really care since its Nujabes! Link below and good luck! http://www.hmv.co.jp/en/artist_Nujabes_000000000215042/item_metaphorical-music_9212023

got the week off so a diggin we will go what looks like pretty generic early 70s LA rock from these cats: still sealed (though not for long) so we shall see what lurks within plodding homage album to a recently departed Jimi. nearly all filler but one killer: naughty soul slab from Sylvia Robinson of sugarhill fame: nice clean copy to replace my poo poo one mad jazz/prog-rock with loads of xylophone and glockenspiel, had a nice drum break and a sweet poster!

But with the ROTM announcement, they also noted that the last day to Swap is September 30th at midnight which seems like a LOT less time given than previous months.

Cheetahmen II is a bootleg made for vgm collectors. It came out this past RSD and was available at Bric a Brac in Chicago as well as Super Potato in Japan. The creator sold his leftover copies last week and I picked one up but it won't be here until Monday.
