LOL. The one on the left is blushing (if I've understood the info presented in the thread about birb blushes and that's why its cheek feathers are puffy).

I do not have a picture, but I have a story from a few years ago, that egret picture reminded me.

I had just finished a skii trip in the mountains with my family, and we were packing things in the car, getting ready to go. It was a windy, snowy day, with grey skies and overall pretty dreary. I remember being on the edge of being sick, so I was miserable in general, and hauling things out to the car in the cold didn't help.

On the way back to the condo we were renting for the trip there was an ebb in the wind, and I stood for a moment to admire the silence and the view of the icy trees, the mountains in the distance. In this quiet moment, out of seemingly nowhere a trio of egrets took advantage of the sudden weakness in wind and took flight, spreading their wings and majestically breaking away from the trees.

About half a second later, a sudden gust blew through, and the birds became cartoon characters. They tipped, flailed and blew right into a snowbank nearby, where they emerged looking quite indignant. After this they quickly took cover behind the trees again, all while I am laughing my rear end off.

I'M FEELING JIMMY
What ever happened to that person who was going to post pictures of their chickens? It's been, like, a month and still no dang chickens.

Also, the only chicken (rooster, more correctly) I encountered in real life jumped on my head and dug it's talons into me on at least 2 different occasions. Yes, the same rooster both times.

That's because roosters are usually super lovely. He was just letting you know that those are his hens to rape. You got that? His.

My grandparents had two non-agressive roosters when I was growing up. Not only did they not attack humans, but they also did not beat up the hens and chicks. Those two got to live long, full lives. All the others ended up becoming dinner after attacking my grandpa. Luckily, I never had to witness chicken death when we went to visit.

I need to get a video of my boss' chickens growling at me when I check the henhouse for eggs. It's pretty cute, but none of the videos of brood hens growling sounds like the boss' hens.
