I like Ghost too, but I think I'd leave after Ghost. And I'm not paying for Metallica tickets to see Ghost.

They'll come by on their own tour soon enough, every 2 years or so.

Someone dug up SYL's Alien, in instrumental form. Although vocals are insane on the normal one, it's cool to hear the instruments in the background on their own. This is a masterpiece of an album, ferocious, schizophrenic and heavy as all gently caress.

There are plenty of nastier and darker albums than Alien but when you place it in Townsend’s full discography it really becomes an insane album on a level very few ever reach. It sounds completely unhinged. I understand why he doesn’t relate to it or enjoy it at all anymore. As a fan of his though it’s fascinating to listen to.

I would like to not do that, but since they get pulled in for what seems like every loving edition of Copenhell, it's hard. Not to mention all the lovely channels and DJs that play them.

The last Metallica album was way better than it had any right to be and they still sound good live. I’d see them if I managed to get tickets.

saw them in houston on friday and they were definitely the best band of the night. too bad they played at 6:30 in front of 1/8th of the crowd that eventually showed up by 9.

on recording they remind me of a more "core" version of Keelhaul, but live they are just something else

They've played there 3 times out of 9 that Copenhell has been held.

Also, you can just... You know... Do something else while they're playing. That's how I handle most main stage bands.

The great thing about a sit-down show is that if the band sucks, such as Ghost, you can slide down into your seat and pretend that you're at a boring work meeting you don't want to be at. Maybe count some ceiling tiles etc.

Closing in on 43, can't stand up straight for 30 minutes without agonizing pains in my lower back and moshing is fine for about 3 minutes. After that I'm panting in your neck like an old dog for the remaining show while complaining about my back
