You know, I was legitimately surprised yesterday with both the racers and NASCAR. NASCAR was really hesitant to throw FCYs for minor spins (though to be fair, they have for the other RCs too as of late), and only threw it for a dead car on track, a pile up, and a huge piece of debris on the backstretch. The race itself was much cleaner than I expected.

I was kind of refreshed with how short it was, honestly. I can see it being annoying with a bunch of commercials but in person it felt like a good balance. Got to the track, walked around the different fan zone type things for an hour or so, then a quick feature race and we still had time to get home and go out for a nice dinner on the town. Maybe I've just been burned by the Coke 600 too many times.

The commercial time was "normal" proportionately, but they spent very odd large swaths of time to guys in the infield or in the stands. I think stage 2 was two laps of on track, down to a guy in the infield to show the elevation change, non side by side commerical, came back to talk to hairy man in the stands, side by side commercial, then the last few laps were actually covered.
