It takes 7f for Slayers 6p to have a hurtbox that low an 18f for it to have an active hitbox. Chipps 6p hurtbox is that low on frame 1 and is active in 9f!!

It's hosed up how hard it is to talk to people in modern games. I just played like 20 games against a solid Jin player in T7 and I wanted to say GGs but its impossible to do so. Dunno about on the 'bone but on Steam or PS4 there's a Profile button in the post-match menu. At least once a day a PS4 player messages me to complain about my delightful Hwoaranging about and to make assumptions about my sexuality

I bought Tekken 7 and won 2/3 matches of my first set. and though it's not directly comparable to SF, I think I did more than what the Tekken equivalent of holding downback and flash kicking people who jump at me is. I definitely feel a lot better about this than my capabilities in 2D fighters, I guess it's just a better fit.

Tekken is dope as hell and I think it's a lot more "intuitive" at low levels of play than most 2D fighters. It certainly clicked for me a lot more back when I first started playing fighting games. 7 is so good and absolutely worth the money. Only thing I don't like about Tekken is how mechanics intensive good movement is. As a pretty casual fighting game player on pad getting good at Korean backdashing is more than I really want to deal with. They did an amazing job of making every character extremely unique.There's an immense amount of depth with systems like Lethal Hits and the various character traits, such as Nightmare's Terror Charge where he gets a single use "EX" move (really just a Soul Charge only extension) after gaining Terror Charge via Soul Charge expiring, certain attack throws, or triggering one of his armor move explosions.

I wouldn't really consider myself a casual fighting game player, but if I can kbd you can absolutely do it too! How I learned was just practicing it for a few minutes at a time between working on whatever else in training mode. I'd practice whatever I was actively practicing, then spend a minute or so just practicing the KBD motion on whichever side of the screen I was on every once and awhile. Eventually it just sort of clicked for me and I could do it on the left side forever. After that I focused on the right side and I can mostly do it there as well, though way more sloppy in my execution. The trick for me was thinking of drawing a triangle with my movement inputs rather than actively cancelling a backdash fwiw

I have no doubt I *could* get it down, I just don't really want to put in the time. I have to be pretty selective with my game time nowadays, wife and job and school and all that. Which is fine! SCVI is almost here and that'll be my fighter of choice for the foreseeable future. I think your advice is rock solid for people that do want to work on it though, it's one of those muscle memory things that you really just need to put the time in on.

Skullgirls (only real?) defensive option, aka the infinite protection system, is just another way to land resets on people as far as I remember. Oof, that game gets me heated, even winning doesn't feel good.

I was having some baffling control issues until I realized it was steam causing them. If you're playing any fighting games on steam, go into the settings and disable all the big picture mode controller support. It'll block inputs from your stick and input them as controller button presses if you've got it turned on.
