You outsource part of the conversation. The majority of people will not trip up the robot.

Here's a podcast on it. Despite the title, it's not really conspiracy talk at all, just mostly speculative based on what google has revealed about some new service.

It sounds like it's basically the Self Checkout of phone scams. If you have one lady with a slight French accent attending to 10 different semi automatic calls intervening when the computer gets confused then you will increase your illegal cash flow.

The only international phone scam that seems prevalent in Scandinavia is the "microsoft support" ransomware scam. It's such old hat by now, even Grandma knows to flip them off and hang up.
If robots took the jobs of those south asian call center employees, I'm not if I should be glad or sad. People here will just hang up on unknown English speakers.
If they started speaking the local language, it'd be a different story, then the robots would suddenly have the upper hand in terms of success rates, too.

My colleagues with kids basically have to because it could be any school staff member calling about a potential emergency.

Or, could be anyone from a client, doctor’s office, etc; there may simply be no choice.

It sucks. This poo poo is turning the phone use model into something more like a pager.

I wonder how much it costs to outsource phone handling to a call center in India that’s probably the same as the scammers trying to call me.

I use a phone number from the far side of the area code zone I actually live in, so nobody in my 3-digit exchange would EVER have reason to call me and I can immediately filter spoofed numbers.

I wouldn't use something that soaked with alcohol, just a soft cloth with a light spray of like 30% alcohol solution is fine

Water resistant phone so you can can drop it in the toilet/get drenched in a thunderstorm/watch porn in the bathtub = fine and good
Water resistant phone for the express purpose of regularly wiping it down with disinfectant = somewhat insane

Use whatever you want that makes you feel better about it, anything you do will have zero impact on you actually getting sick.

I wipe my phone with alcohol occasionally to get oils off of it.

I do this even though it is not a waterproof model because alcohol is not water and it’s not like I’m dunking the phone.

I grew some cultures from my phone as part of getting a food safety certificate. The result was even more spectacular than the swabs we got from a toilet.

The point of the exercise is that we shouldn't dick around on our phones while eating or serving food, not that it needs to be scoured with bleach. Genuinely unsure what to do about POS terminals though :eng99:

The POS terminals I used to work with (touch screen thingies) could easily stand up to window cleaning detergent and a light scrubbing with a cloth. It was part of the daily closing routine and mandated by the local health inspectors.

Hi
:saddowns: Don't look at my site :saddowns:
We deployed Dell AIOs in a hospital ICU environment and by default all the touchscreens were left turned on. It took a little while, but the touchscreens started acting up because of the disinfectant. Since the touchscreen wasn't even supposed to be used anyway, we just disabled it. Because of terrible management we didn't do this by GPO, but rather by manually disabling it on every single machine manually when it occurred. Which made it hard to do, because the mouse was on the fritz.
