I *do* wonder if we’re going to get an explanation for why Sakura and pals get to wake up and keep their minds and poo poo as zombies. Like the show clearly doesn’t and really shouldn’t give a poo poo about Lore, but it does stick out a bit.

Well it could be the manner of death, the scene didn't really focus on it because it would be pretty gruesome but by the scar she has on her head it looked like she got a really bad head injury from the accident.

Oh god, what is it with 2018 that's delivering so much choice anime? At which point did the normally super rigid people who approve projects said "HELL YEAH, UNDEAD IDOLS TACKLE DIFFERENT GENRES PER EPISODE. THAT'S WHERE THE GRAVY TRAIN AND GOLD-PLATED DIAPERS ARE, BABY" and went on their merry ways? ... you know what? I'm fine either way. I love this drat show already.

This sure is a mamoru miyano role alright. Man, the musical bits are so much more inspired than everything else. The lead-up to the end in both these first two episodes was mad boring, honestly, I think it's a shame the show can't have the same kinda energy it has in its best bits more often. It'll prolly find a better groove as it goes on and the girls are more thoroughly fleshed out and get over the what-the-gently caress-is-happening awkwardness. The ending was dopeplus I love that the cop actually rapped back, but the execution and sense of humor otherwise are lukewarm for me, so I'm still kinda halfsies on it. OP ruled.

I tried giving this a shot after hearing people gush about the first episode, but I don't think it's for me. Every character besides Sakura (and maybe the child actress girl with the weird external heart) is a huge rear end in a top hat, *especially* the manager guy. His whole "Why are you a zombie? SHUT UP, YOU JUST ARE. Why is this plain looking zombie girl 'legendary'? SHUT UP, SHE JUST IS." bit really rubbed me the wrong way, like he's yelling at the audience for attempting to think about the premise of the show beyond just the surface level. I know lots of people say that characters don't have to be likable to be good characters, but for me personally, if I don't like a character then I don't care what happens to them and therefore I don't really want to consume whatever piece of media they're in anymore.

I completely hadn't seen this series coming and I usually hate idol shows, but I'm loving this. Performances are on point, musical scenes are surreal, and good old zombie physical comedy. I like how it's all somehow improbably wrapped up into a tourism board anime for a middle of nowhere rural prefecture. My favorite thing so far is how the Legendary Yamada Tae is listed in the credits as voiced by "????". I think you can hear JUNNA in the opening song which is sung by all the zombie girls, she might be the voice of Tae. Altough she hasn't done any voice acting before so I dunno.
