That’s actually a really interesting idea that I’d not considered. Thinking back, even when I shifted from Greco & MT into actual MMA I was really surprised at how well I held up against collegiate wrestlers singles and doubles with no real sprawling practice. Think Whittaker was a pretty good rugby player and made a choice to do MMA instead so some of that likely crosses over.
