I think he's specifically referring to her being on the booking "team" at SHIMMER, which isn't really news. She hasn't been to the last several tapings, but Kevin Harvey has actively talked about how the SHIMMER booking team has consisted of some variation of himself, Dave Prazak, Portia and Alison Danger in the past. They were even Skyping her in for a few shows after she retired. As far as I know, Portia and Prazak still have a good relationship, but she's no longer attending shows and has seemingly moved on from wrestling altogether.

I don't think Danger is that actively involved either. Despite the nominal split between RISE and SHIMMER, I'm still seeing a lot of Kevin. Also, Mercedes is really running roughshod over the back. I see a product removed from fun and I hope something happens where they can recapture that.

My favorite Ray story is her always showing up to the SHIMMER after parties still wearing her mask (Leon as well) and laying into Pink Flash Kira who wasn't wearing hers. The next night, Kira was wearing her mask to a bar in Berwyn. It was ridiculous, but I always had a lot of love for her demanding that level of respect for wrestling traditions.

Here are a couple of pictures of Hiroyo Matsumoto from the Koenji Fes 2018 exhibition match. She wrestled Itsuki Aoki, who I didn't know. The ring was set up in a tiny park across from Koenji Station, and there were a couple of other exhibition matches before and afterwards but were not joshi. (Apparently one of those matches had a dude taking a suplex onto the crosswalk, but I wasn't around for that!) I took video, but my phone is being a pain at the moment. The backstory on that one is earnestly touching. tldr: Misao was severely depressed and barely left her room after graduating college, with no idea what to do with her life, until one day she randomly saw Kasai wrestling at one of DDT's street wrestling shows and he inspired her to become a wrestler. She asked for the match to show him how far she'd come since then. She says she mostly lived off of cheap convenience store creme puffs as a shut-in - that's why her stipulation for their match was that falls didn't count until you'd eaten a whole bag of them.

The best moment of that match for me was that stipulation immediately being forgotten when Misao attacked Kasai, then it coming back when Kasai tried to pin her near the end and the referee giving him a bag of cream puffs. In tragic news, Maki Ito only finished third in the general election.

Probably the electorate being increased by 7000 voters after Peter Pan. The reaction when she was announced as the leader on Majimanji was audible confusion so the DDT fans who don't watch TJPW probably swung it.
