It is, without a doubt, one of my favorite tracks. Skylon is a great album in its own right, second only to CBL's Hydroponic Gardens.

This di.fm app is amazing.

Anyone have any suggestions on stations to check out beyond the default "Chillout"?

Still haven't found anything to surpass my fave track (Hayling) but still chasing the dragon (in a relaxed, chill manner)

I really enjoy 'Dub Techno', especially if I'm listening as I (try) to go to sleep. It can get a bit repetitive though. If you're into older stuff then 'Electronic Pioneers' is good - it's probably a bit too...'sci-fi' or experimental if you're looking for a track like Hayling, though. 'Downtempo Lounge' might work for you.

Also check out somafm.com's 'Groove Salad' if you haven't already, since that's an internet radio station pretty much designed for what you're after.

If you're looking for good dub techno mixes, check out Luigi Tozzi, Naveen G, or Svreca on SoundCloud. Luigi also utilizes a lot of ambient. I discovered both of the below tracks from their mixes

Probably my favorite dub techno track I've heard in some time -

Avi Musaifi - Qarva https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9DQ1QZ2AW8

A nice ambient one -

Astral Industries released a new album from Waveform Transmission, the project involving Rod Modell of DeepChord and Chris Troy. They released their first album in 1996 on Silent (re-released 2006 by Silentes).
Gas-like (but so is Rod Modell's Global Systems Silenty Moving release) ambient. Very good. Astral Industries is usually a vinyl only label, but all except the first DeepChord album is available as digitals on bandcamp.
Check out the Waveform Transmission - V 2.0 - 2.9.

Just found this thread and have been trawling through it for Good Stuff. I have found some, thanks. In return, have one of the best dronology albums ever recorded.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U__lpPDTUS4

It may be a bit late, but five pages (and five years!) ago someone was asking about horror-ambient. There's a genre called Witch House which is exactly that, and an act called Demdike Stare who have not been mentioned yet.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9vqBh0zVEQ

Which segues nicely into people mentioning Gas. New album, Rausch, came out two weeks ago. It's very good, but the last 20 minutes are some of the most oppressive music I've ever heard. I was finding it hard to breathe by the end. Sample preview:

Helios, an artist whose work I adored in my mid-late teens/early 20s but kinda lost track of in recent years, just released a new album literally an hour ago called Veriditas. It's his first one in a couple years, and it has some similar types of moods to the ones I fell in love with many years ago.

If you're in need of something to space out/fall asleep to, it might not be the all-time classic that Eingya is but it's solid nonetheless. It's refreshing in a year that hasn't had many ambient albums that have really grabbed me.

Something undeniably BoC-inspired, which ended up becoming one of my all-time favorite ambient/chillout/downtempo albums and one of my go-to albums to put on whenever I'm feeling really anxious, is Tycho's Dive. It also just celebrated its 7th birthday on Thursday.

I think some reviewers compared it to BoC when it was first released, though it has a far more hopeful sound than Tomorrow's Harvest (at least, in my mind).

I really like Tycho too, his first couple albums were very BoC inspired but he does much more of his own thing now with live instrumentation and such. Also very chill and doesn’t make me feel bad like Tomorrow’s Harvest does. Feel bad in a good way, still a great album.

At the time it came out I really didn’t like Campfire Headphase but over time it has really grown on me with some of my favourite BoC tracks.

That's odd. I'd say Campfire was the quintessential BoC album, the one you cannot like the band and not like. Geogaddi was my first BoC and it was much less accessible.

Does anyone have a YT link to the self-titled (and I believe only) album by A Quiet Revolution, or any tracks from it? I've been trying in vain to find Hell Is A Closed Door to post here.

In particular, I've listened to this pretty much all day at work the last few days. I can't really stop staring at that cover either. The whole thing is completely engrossing and has me in a headspace that I can't normally get to very easily. What else like this is out there besides other ART albums?

That album is actually from after they changed their name to Ash Ra and so is a little different from the earlier Ash Ra Tempel albums(although they're all really good too). A lot of bands in the krautrock scene did stuff that verged on ambient, just off the top of my head you probably want to check out Tangerine Dream, Cluster, AR & Machines, The Cosmic Jokers, Gunter Schickert and Sergius Golowin. A lot of Manuel Göttsching and Klaus Schulze's solo albums are pretty good too and verge on the same kind of stuff. Also maybe check out some Berlin school electronic music, a lot of krautrock guys went on to make this.

Thanks everyone! Ive been jamming a lot of Tangerine Dream lately as well and love that stuff also. I did also. Price this was a departure from the earlier ART stuff that was a little closer to traditional Krautrock (well, as traditional as it can get I guess). Anyone know that synth they use on this record? It reminds me of the same sound that Pink Floyd got in the opening bit of Shine On You Crazy Diamond and it reminds me of space travel for some reason.

Edit: pretty sure that’s a VCS3, but I’m hardly an expert.
