I was drinking a beer in Bushwick today and ran into a nice couple of whom the dude was wearing a Tresor shirt, so I went over and said hey nice shirt, we're visiting from Berlin and then they told us that there's an open air around the corner they are going to where Len Faki is playing and it was apparently 30 or 40 bucks lol, so we didn't join.

on a similar note, Robert Hood is coming to Toronto but he's as Floorplan and playing with his daughter. Has anyone seen them together? I know they've been doing it for a couple years now but it's $40 and I''m unsure. I've seen Hood on his own a few times and it was loving killer.

Hey, you're the cycling enthusiast from back in the day in the dj mix thread!
That's a superb mix, but it's almost hard for me to listen to. I have at least 6 of these tracks myself and played them a lot, it's uncanny.
And all of them are linked to sometimes not so great memories, and the realization that all that dj stuff was a LONG time ago.

Jesus, that Aubrey track was 20 years ago.

What's weird is when people describe this stuff as IDM/techno and refuse to make any mention to how heavily detroit's pioneers influenced this sound.

Super similar because it is B12! Well Steven Rutter is one half of B12 and Firescope is his new label. Well I say new a couple of years old at this point.

So I’m into American and European tech house (defected, dirtybird, etc) but I want to expand into techno, but there’s so much going on I don’t even know where to start.

What’s the best way to jump in and get a feel for the different subgenres? Should I just throw on a bunch of Carl Cox and go from there?
