My pokemon go experience: mostly olds and the occasional school kid who is extremely enthusiastic about pokemon (that are meta-irrelevant, pfft  ).

I was not aware shiny Pokemon from raids were 100% catch rate.  I checked with my girlfriend, who I remember said she had to use 3-4 balls to catch her shiny Gengar, and it turns out that was from missing throws - the first one that hit caught.Hoping the rain here also lets up so I can go out and try to catch two shiny Ponyta. Community day will also be good, because I need two more Johto entries for the Celebi quest for Johto gold medal, and Cyndaquil's evolutions are ones I do not have yet.

Gengar is super far away and kept dodging and attacking. It's hard to get the balls to travel far enough and when they do, the flight time feels like hours so gengar has plenty of time to jump.

Caught a resistance Ponyta and while it's obviously the best of the released shinies (all of the currently released shinies, not just this wave's) I still really want an enlightened Cubone.

Shiny Charmander is so far the only shiny my Gotcha has grabbed for me, but I'll take it. Purchase justified just from that. I'm still at zero shiny Cubone and Ponyta, which I guess makes up for the excellent luck I had with Pinsir. Oh well.

I wonder if big cities have a different feeling about all this because my place doesn't get that many spoofers but even if they're in raids, we're just like "well that's just 'air support' I guess" and it gets raids done quicker. Catching legendaries isn't some zero-sum game like everyone else gets less chances if you get one from a raid spoofers helped you win, so that's some real dumb gated-community group they've formed there. When we do have big groups and space to get in is a problem and spoofers are around, it's not that hard to juke them by backing out and remaking a private group. It's nice to pull the seat out from under them especially if everyone backs out at the last second so they go into the raid all by themselves. Then you can enjoy your raid while knowing that they're checking the gym fervently to see if everyone is reforming a public group or not.

Went on Vacation this week, got 2 Shiny Pinsir, traded for a Shiny Gengar,, and caught a shiny ponyta andCubone. Marowak is my fav Pokémon so I’m super stpked

Alolan Marowak can be shiny too if you do a raid. Also I'm glad the only issue I'm having in my raid group is one girl won't shut the gently caress up about how her alt account is catching more shinies than her main and that Niantic is out to get her because of it.
