Highland Ice Arena in Shoreline honors service members with free ice skating for everyone; skate rental is available for $4 (Monday, Nov. 12). Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium: Veterans and active military receive free admission, and immediate families pay half-price admission (Saturday–Monday, Nov. 10–12). Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Eatonville: Veterans and active military receive free admission, and their immediate family members pay half-price admission (Saturday–Monday, Nov. 10–12). Everyone can enjoy free access to our country's amazing national parks on Veterans Day (Sunday, Nov. 11; free). Our fantastic state parks honor military too with free access for everyone on Veterans Day; no Discover Pass is required to park (Sunday, Nov. 11; free). Woodland Park Zoo salutes veterans and active military with free admission for current and former service members and spouses plus discounted admission for up to four family members (Sunday, Nov. 11). I am irritated that Veterans Day is one of those days where Monday is "Observed". I originally thought I got off free because it landed on a Sunday this year, now (since I just started and don't have enough PTO to blow a day) I have to run the risk of trying to duck Veterans Day thank you stuff at work. Had a pretty good back and forth with an amphib Marine at another office on Friday though. That was a good time.
