When you press the button, it will try to catch the Pokémon or spin the PokéStop and collect items from it, without the need to pull out your phone, wake it up, and do it manually. How’s it work without the app open?

I'm playing Metroid Prime, just got the ice beam and got told to find eleven more artifacts. How long does that take? I'm doing a 'normal' sequential run.

I'm not overly fond of 'hey let's backtrack through every area again and comb it for easily missable stuff' quests. How do 2 and 3 compare to the original?

So my it's my brother in laws birthday and his sister forgot to get him a gift and I thought maybe I can get him something for his Switch. The guy has a huge library on Steam and is a video game programmer himself, so I'm thinking a game that's less than 30 or so and game developers themselves can appreciate. He's color-blind though so... nothing where that can affect it (he had issues with the Witness for example). Any ideas?

For Black Friday deals, keep an eye out for discounted gift cards. 20% off is not uncommon and can be used to effectively get a discount on sale-less new release first party games.

He also got Badnorth so he's into testing smaller newer things. I haven't tried them but I've thought between Marble it up, Mr. Tako, or Hidden Folk, which I've struck me as the best indie games recently released. Also I don't think he has Dead Cells on Steam (as it's on his Wishlist) so there's that. Though he may have tried it some other way. We still can't gift through the Switch store though huh?

Yeah, turns out that the latest four artifacts I've tried to reach are impossible (or very difficult) to find without certain upgrades. Really annoying! Why give me hints to eight or so artifacts when I can't even reach them because I don't have the right color on my gun? It's really annoying and a waste of my time. I'll just go for all the upgrades for now instead.

Yeah, there are a lot of great digital indie releases I COULD recommend, but there's not really much point in the context of giving a gift...

Uh, Cave Story got a physical Switch release, and that game has a lot of sentimental value to big indie fans/devs, so maybe he would enjoy that?

Correct, used it all day yesterday. You push to try to catch Pokemon but stops are 100% automatic.

I'm playing Metroid Prime and have wasted 40 missiles trying to knock down a stalactite in the frost cave. Normally I get it right the first time but I think the game might hate me. Edit: turns out the solution was to turn off free aim. Renoistic fucked around with this message at 19:49 on Nov 17, 2018 |

Pretty sure you can drive and use the Pokeball Plus at the same time, just hold it in one hand and squeeze the top when it vibrates. Not that you should. But if you did, hypothetically, you could catch as many as 25 mons on the way to and from your local grocery store that's only a few miles away.

Yeah, free aim being added to Prime 1 and 2 was both a boon and a curse. Prime 1 especially really depended on the lock on for certain aimed shots. Those stalactites are definitely the worst of it though, and free aim is super great for some of the bosses.
