In the Post Mortem podcast with Mike Dougherty posted last October, he said there are the four main monsters and then three additional monsters in the movie. I’m not sure if he meant new monsters or redesigned monsters, but he said he busted out his sketch book while designing them. Just listened to the episode last night.

It would be interesting. Don't job out Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah to one another, bring in some local talent to do the job, that way the audience can see what a threat they are.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see another Muto. They were a great kaiju design, and the only one they could count on American audiences being familiar with.

The Muto kind of sucked and I wished they had gone more crazy with them. I like the triangular head and the jaws, but the arms were lovely meat hooks and they reminded me too much of Sebulba with how they moved. Give them some spikes, throw some more color in there than just black and faded red.
